There is much truth in the religions, but there is also some very dangerous self-fulfilling prophecy fueled by dogmatism. This is what people don't understand about atheists. Atheists are rightly scared of this, and this is what mainly drives their opposition to religion.
Some day, a popular bridge will be built, and truer science will come together with truer religion. Good luck with that any time soon. People are too busy wanting to kill each other.

Christ is indeed very loving, but that's not what the actual Christian culture is. The Christian culture will tell you that God hates certain people, and sends them to hell forever. It doesn't get this out of nowhere either. This comes from The Bible. Even worse, The Bible speaks of a doomsday with the most horrifying genocide as a feature, and this is held as being set in stone, simply because it is written. The Christian culture tells you that this cannot be questioned because it is written in The Bible, the ultimate truth. Yeah right. There will come a day when Jesus will destroy all evil off this earth and begin his 1000 year reign. We have the choice to pick his side or Satan’s side. We have the choice of life or death. There is nothing wrong with having a peaceful world. Wouldn’t you want evil to be gone? No thanks, if you call that world peaceful, then I will play no part in it.
