EBT is a joke.
It really is.
I did some research on it because of all the hype about anyone being able to get lobsters and tbone steaks and live like a king and I found the opposite.

Some get $10 dollars which is enough for a few loaves of bread and salami.

Laughable, you know that 7 years old kid is right.

And you must be 6 years old then?.

Trump took the bait purposefully..

Trump sold out humanity when he agreed to be the fall guy. This happened in the 90s when 20 big banks bailed him out for no apparent reason, with nearly 1 billion dollars in loans which placed the trump enterprise in the control of the banks. He made good Scripted speeches that he read From a teleprompter. Even I believed him and spent a year and several hundred dollars backing him up. A week after the election, “lock her up” was replaced by “the Clintons are good people.” That statement alone was all that I needed to hear to realize Trump is Benedict Arnold, at the mercy of living like a king. Love of money is the root of all evil. Trump is a weak link, a shallow braggart who has left dead bodies in his path.

rockon good reply, thanks!

this thing is just getting kicked off.

there will be plenty of starvation when the government turns off the cards, or the stores start getting raided by hungry mobs.

they are destroying the farms and production of food, they had dairy farmers dumping milk, plowing under crops, aborting sows, putting 22s in the heads of herds.

when the full horror of the situation is known by the common man in the street there will be death. nobody expected a run on toilet paper, like the silent run on gold now, and the run on guns, and the run on food storage supplies.

what's coming now is going to make the great depression look like a damn picnic.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76805704

Small and Medium size business will be rare and Big Corporations will make and break families and own them all like slaves.
 Quoting: JD Freely

that's right. and these people yammering on to me about the rights of "private property" to enforce whatever edicts they want on customers can't see how that "private property" is really just the company store and an extension of the government because they play ball and will tow the line. everyone else will be shut down, licenses pulled, told to cease operating, and wither and die on the vine to kill off competition so that ONLY the company store remains.

how many alternatives do people really have to these monolithic, ubiquitous, EVIL big box stores? and how many can even afford to purchase at a small business any more?

people don't understand just how poor they are becoming. when the free trade crap kicked off in the 80s and 90s and the wages froze, and they began the race to the bottom, people didn't notice that the 100$ pair of boots was still $100, but now it was made in china and wore out quicker, and quicker, and got crappier, and crappier, and they just acclimated to it and thought thats just how it always was.

Now you have americans buying GARBAGE that appears to be a boot at walmart every 3 months and thinks that is NORMAL.

a real, made in America boot like Whites, or Nicks, or Thorogood, or Danners, cost $250-$500 but they will last years or DECADES and can be resoled over and over and over and are actually more cost effective than the bottom feeding at walmart. but you can't convince these people that quality is worth paying for - they can't see the price they are paying shopping at these hideous places.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76805704

Open the Damn Country. We are in the middle of Herd Immunity, which is a natural occurrence after every single Pandemic and new Flu we have ever had. The numbers are still not as high as they were with H1N1 in 2009!

60.8 Million Americans tested positive for H1N1 in 2009.
Children were the most likely to catch the virus.
It came from China.

Schools stayed open
No Masks
No Shutdowns
Media silent

The CDC controlled the number of deaths. They had a strict set of requirements for the diagnosis of H1N1 deaths. They had to be confirmed with the CDC.

The CDC sent out the requirements for Covid deaths. If the patient was “suspected” to have Covid at the time of death, no test was needed. Mark the patients death as Covid.

See the difference!!!!

This is a Mind War. China helped the Deep State create this chaos around the world.

Funny, all you people scream fake virus, and maybe it is! Yet, the lockdowns are causing economies to fail, especially in USA, but the underlying question you are not asking nor realizing is, “why are they shutting down the economy”? What do they know you don’t? Again scream all you want about best Economy eva before this lockdown, all untrue! The collapse is happening from an aspect you are not able to comprehend! So enjoy the small time you have left, because soon enough the truth will unveiled for you to comprehend why what is happening is happening!!tick tock tick tock.....

Not even close. People actually starved to death back then. Govco will give you an EBT card. You can make $700/month selling plasma (more if you have had Covid), unemployment, etc. Safety nets exist now. They didn’t 100 years ago.

Most of the population lives in urban areas. Prior to 1940s, most lived in rural areas. No fast food dollar menus, no dollar stores.

The dustbowl farmers had it really rough. Read The Worst Hard Time. It was also a PBS show if you don’t like books.

If you don’t believe me, take a look at all of the fat people in your area.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75339570

The dustbowl was hyped to distract from the fact bankers seized farmland over debts.

Too many people literally "bet the farm" to gamble in the stock market, and then lost everything in the 1929 crash but still owed those debts. That is where the term comes from.

Nowadays people do the same thing with HELOCs.

Also, the government is out of money. There isn't an endless amount for both the banks and pensions about to go under, and the Welfare state.

The cities will be allowed to fall to ruin. Then Google/Apple can rebuild those key strategic areas as "Smart Cities". Once the land near the ports is cheap enough, and all those remaining historic buildings turned to rubble.

If you are in a city without a major port or railway junction or airport you might be okay or you're not on the main Mexico-to-Canada corridor.

These ACs get it, read and learn:

alienated families, stratified population, in debt up to their eyeballs, reliant on pills and potions, addicted to drugs and drinks, with effeminate or infiltrated churches and "pastors" that seemingly stand for nothing and act as some type of guardian for the status quo, masses of sheep that can't turn off the idiot box - that are willing to wear symbols of submission because they are rootless cosmopolitans that believe in absolutely nothing absolutely.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76805704

It largely willbe nightmarish as many will be homeless and expect the government to take care of them. They have zero practical skills they can offer as barter. They have zero ancestral skills so they can just go camping. They have no camping gear and no supplies. They have largely have abandoned the ELOHIM. They have poor social skills and lack any ability to be peacemakers and build community in small groups

People during the Great Depression were their opposites.
