wasnt even a hurricane we had 40 mph winds with 50-60 mph gusts. Just a lot of dead tree branches falling down. I moved one on top of my car, transmission went out and the car has a leaky head gasket, figure its easier to just have insurance total the car from this ole tree branch.

and Connecticut now chiming in as a yellow state. It was not on the map at all last time I checked.

NJ is now gonna ask for billions of dollars to clean up the mess.

by customers, I mean the number of residences/business getting power.

the number of PEOPLE affected is far higher.

I saw that too.... it is an outage map I use frequently... sometimes a freak occurrence drives the numbers up for a particular state.

more worrisome when it is multiple smaller outages that grow.

At least they are all wearing masks, so they are SAFE!

Friends and family in Wilmington, NC lost power last night about 11pm but got it back about noon today.

hope it stays on for them.

this will take time to fix.

I have not tracked Isaias as closely as other events.

all my peeps NOT on the East Coast at the moment... I let it kinda go by me.

this changed that.

2.5 million without power now on the east coast, here in the bronx the storm nearly completely missed us, only 10 minutes of rain but some moderate winds.

Pffft....it was barely a thunderstorm.

Come live in the tropics for a year where we get 40-50 mph winds in everyday thunderstorms all summer long.

not an electrical grid maven, but seems at least thinkable.

in any case, outages caused by many multiple smaller events (trees down, winds, etc etc etc) can take longer to fix

than an outage caused by a single event.



unless that single event is REALLY really big.
