Well, in one way of looking at it you can consider two seperate ways of taking it.

One: would be lessen your income would be better than leaving it open to more taxation extracted from it which would lower your labors worth to even labor for it.

Second: would be, it raises the cost of debt making it way more costly for any intruder or offender from buy us out of being.
