I watched mythbusters way back in the day. They had all these pressure discs that they would break in a pressure wave telling you that you would be dead. This was close enough that anyone from this camera to the explosion was dead. Including all the traffic in the distance.

I am guessing tens of thousands dead. For what fucking purpose if not an accident I have no idea.
