Why is it necessary to keep reminding you folks that their is disparity in the weight gains taking place between men and women? Both sexes have been eating incorrectly for quite some time and both sexes have gained weight.

But it is women who have absolutely gone hog wild in the last couple of years - far more so than men.

If we are going to talk about weight gain, it's critical to notice this huge difference between men and women and to ask ourselves why.

This reminds me of my days in high-school decades ago. I remember back in grade 9 or so...when some of the girls from earlier grades suddenly started getting chubby/fat after they started high-school.

Back then we equated their weight increase to sex. We thought that girls would gain weight after losing their V-card. Then we learned that it was actually the "pill" that caused a sudden weight increase.

It became almost like a calling card for which girls were "putting out"

People like to blame the diet and to a great degree some of it is true, flour and sugar have been around a long time though. The main problem America really has is portion control, overeating and inactivity. Most of that simply comes from being in a country spoiled with availability of food and affluence. Many nations in the world don't have problems with obesity because a large portion of their people are starving.

People are getting fat, because...fat shaming is no longer okay and the media is constantly telling us (or women, at least) that its okay to be fat.

If it were merely portion control, men would be getting hugely obese just as fast as women are.

That's not the case. Look around and you'll see it plain as day.

Why?

The huge fatties out there have one simple problem — they eat too dam much! It has nothing to do with 5G, Monsanto, sugar, carbs, gluten, yogurt, red wine, glands, Mediterranean fish diet... whatever food superstition you are told by them. Reality is they eat enough for 2-3 rich families in third world countries.

Also, they don’t care what they look like and usually cover the cellulite with awful tattoos and more chrome than a Harley.

Eating sugar causes a blood sugar spike followed by a crash which causes You to eat more. Also people don't realize in Your mid 30's Your body starts storing fat so You have to limit Your food consumption unlike Your 20's.

This thread is about the DIFFERENCE between weight gain by women CONTRASTED to the weight gain of men in the last year or two.

So what have the responses been over and over again? Blaming foods that we've been eating for decades by both genders. WTF!!
