No, no, no. Someone that has been through a terrible trauma is not obligated to help everybody else that's been through the same sort of thing. That's often the worst advice you can give. Hurting people are rarely able to give other hurting people what they need to heal.

Someone that has been through something traumatic actually has a higher than normal right to be selfish, work on their own healing, and achieve a level of well-being within themselves, no matter how long that takes. Once they feel healed to the point where thinking about their trauma no longer has a large emotional component to it, only then can they make a healthy and conscious choice as to what they want to do next. If they want to help others, that's fine. If they just want to be left alone to pursue their own dreams, that's equally fine.
