It looks like they fixed the backlog and are staggering the release, can't find properly backdated counts yet. Will be hard to see what is actually happening for a bit.

-Edit- Hospitalized Currently and ICU occupancy are still moving down, so that's a good sign.

Figured as much, thanks all. LA county still has yet to fix their backlog issue so that will explode one day soon I'm sure. But good to know the signs are still looking better overall.

Texas doesn't look that great... again. This time with the current hospitalizations that looks to be stabalizing in addition to the other bad indicators. Some chart visuals at the links.

There are currently 7,216 Texans hospitalized because of COVID-19. That's the lowest total since July 1.

Testing in Texas has fallen off a cliff. Over the past two weeks, the 7-day average of new test results has fallen by 53%.

Only 15,202 new molecular test results were reported for yesterday.

Texas is averaging 29,145 tests per day (lowest since June 19).

The 7-day positive rate in Texas has hit a new record high: 23.92% (previous high was 21.53% on Saturday).

Of yesterday's test results, 29.31% were positive (4,455 cases out of 15,202 tests).

California’s electronic lab reporting problem has been solved, according to the state website. As such, some portion of the 12,500 new cases reported today are backlogs from prior days. We expect this to continue for the next day or two.

Just to emphasize the point above. Over the past 7 days Texas reported 200k PCR tests, down from a peak of 400k+ over 7 days.

Georgia (little over 1/3rd the pop) reported 230k PCR tests in the same period, a high for them.

Florida (little over 2/3th the pop) reported 260k PCR tests despite the hurricane shutting down test sites last week.

Az (About 1/4th the pop) reported 65k tests, down from a peak of 93k.

CA (About 4/3rds the pop) reported 880k tests, which it has been doing pretty stably.

It's far from the worst when it comes to testing, but testing 50% less is quite a bit.

Asked about the decrease in testing, TX Governor Abbott pointed to "surge teams" previously deployed to hot spots that he said drove testing numbers up.

Logistics of getting the tests out to those in the rural areas could be an issue? Not good when the infections are becoming less in the urban areas and more in the rural, as I think you said before Dutchy.
