A large number of women turned up at a religious event organised in a village in Gujarat's Ahmedabad district to "eradicate coronavirus", police said on Wednesday, adding 23 people, including the village head, have been arrested.

After the video clip went viral on Wednesday, Ahmedabad rural police said appropriate action had already been taken. A police officer said villagers believed that coronavirus will just go away if water is poured on the Baliyadev temple.

Fully Vaccinated Passenger Flight

Emirates proudly shared today that it successfully completed its first flight where everyone on board was vaccinated against COVID-19. The Dubai-based carried nearly 400 vaccinated passengers around the UAE this afternoon.

The flight was boarded by both fully vaccinated crew and passengers and was also supported by fully vaccinated ground staff. Emirates highlights that this move demonstrates the UAE’s readiness to support the safe return of air travel. A significant proportion of the current infecteds in Seychelles are those who have been fully vaccinated. 59% of the vaccinateds in Seychelles are those who had the Sinovac vaccine. However the Sinovac vaccine was reported to have over 90% efficacy in late stage trials in Turkey last year.

So there you have it. Decent evidence that a vaccine advertised to have have high efficacy and has fairly high coverage will actually not prevent many vaccinateds from getting infected... which leaves us with potential dire consequences from that, including the pandoras box for new variants that could be left open.

It's an interesting stat on the face of it, albeit all those 15 millions are in India. But look at Seychelles which is the most vaccinated by per capita on the planet. Most people have had the covishield and sinovac vaccines, yet a large percentage of the vaccinateds there have since tested positive for the virus.
