The article is a pretty interesting look into how errors can creep into science overtime and become accepted as dogma, to quote one paragraph:

"What must have happened, she thought, was that after Wells died, scientists inside the CDC conflated his observations. They plucked the size of the particle that transmits tuberculosis out of context, making 5 microns stand in for a general definition of airborne spread. Wells’ 100-micron threshold got left behind. “You can see that the idea of what is respirable, what stays airborne, and what is infectious are all being flattened into this 5-micron phenomenon,” Randall says. Over time, through blind repetition, the error sank deeper into the medical canon. The CDC did not respond to multiple requests for comment. "

Such simple rules of thumb if you will often make it harder to accept other more viable explanations like the airborne route. Look at the evidence without the notion of a 5-micron limit and airborne is the only logical explanation, impose that limit however and every other explanation gains in favorability.
 Quoting: Dutchy20

So basically, in the past they didn't know of any pathogen particle larger than 5 microns that could be transmitted by the airborne route. So they assumed 5 microns was the limit and to them this meant sarscov2 could not be airborne? However sarscov2 can probably be airborne at larger than 5 microns?
 Quoting: CoronaCoaster

Airborne illness itself had a bit of stigma around it after miasma theory (bad air) was prevalent in the medical world for so long before being made nearly obsolete with germ theory. So you had one guy that showed that pathogens can spread through the air whose work was mostly ignored until it was picked up for TB, whose specific pathogeneses (only works in actual lung tissue) makes it hard for particles in excess of 5 microns to make it to the lungs. So only the nitpicked 5-micron definition, which works well for tuberculosis, made it into the medical lexicon. That limit however does not apply to pathogens like influenza/cold/Sars-nCov-2 that are less picky about what part of the respiratory tract they will party in.

So you have medicine as a field of science and particle physics as a separate field of science, somewhere in the 50's the two briefly talked over drinks and separated. Medical science came away with the 5-micron rule after sleeping it off forgetting that the scope of the conversation was limited to tuberculosis...
 Quoting: Dutchy20

Funny comment, the last paragraph. And how sad that the WHO and the CDC were not open to changing their ideas. And yes, it means significant shifts in how we set up and design buildings at great expense.

He is getting his playbook from Trump, appealing to the Republicans who don't think their is a pandemic or anything to be concerned about with this virus.

Most people will remember the WHO for famously calling this virus a global threat at a far too late stage.

There was something I didn't know about, and that early last year the WHO tweeted “FACT: #COVID19 is NOT airborne.” (They now accept it is airborne)

Other things also need to be taken into consideration. Humidity, wind, etc, help to keep it aloft.

Part from DR

I can see the logic in what he says.....
But would or could it happen....

When the next wave starts (October 2021), they will USE NUMBERS to show that the new variants affects the NON-VACCINATED, have more people scared enough to get vaccinated, and by March 2022, there will be a NEW VARIANT, that will kill MOST OF THE VACCINATED ONES, because their immune system, after being vaccinated, will go into overdrive, their anti-bodies will exponentially flood the body...but the new variant will be 100% resistant to those anti-bodies.

Sadly, the vaccinated ones won't be ABLE to create NATURAL anti-bodies, because the ARTIFICIAL ones (created by the vaccines) will overwhelm their immune system, but won't be able to fight off the new variant, will create MORE artificial anti-bodies to fight off the virus, but they won't be able to, and so on, and so on, until cykotine storm will KILL THEM.

If you're going to do surge vaccinations then at least offer it to the whole country. Not surprised the decision was reversed.

Seems to me you're much more likely to suffer cytokine storm if you have NO antibodies, rather than antibodies from either natural infection or vaccination.

I do think there could be future surges of infections including in those who have been vaccinated, but I don't agree with what DR is saying there.

I have had bronchitis a lot in my life. 60 years hf

Should I be worried about catching the woohoo flu?

Is the flu done in the US?

My region had no cases and people are out like it is celebration time

Not worried about some hypothetical zombies infiltration years to come.

That is life. What about now? It seems safe now. How about in your region?

Boots on the ground in Thailand say the UK variant is really contagious and it is crazy at the hospitals. Only hearing contagious. Not zombified.

There is no verified zombification happening anywhere to my knowledge.

From your post I take it you are from Thailand, which seems to be experience it's first big case spike in cases currently. The fact there are no cases being reported in your area does not have to mean there is no spread, there is always some delay. Best advice I can give you is to just be cautious and avoid being in crowded indoor spaces when you can. Wearing a mask helps but does not offer full protection, it's a risk reduction factor.

Having had bronchitis often could mean you are at higher risk but there are so many factors involved it's impossible to tell.

U.K. If it’s 520 to 1300 Indian variant cases in a week then in 8 weeks it could be 2,000,000 a week or 285k a day!

Hello from westhoughton, neighbouring town to Bolton aka Indian variant capital of U.K. uk

It’s like being back in august last year.rest of the country was out of lock down, but us still in it! same old people not abiding to rules and here we are again.hate being tarred with the BL post code as we as a town have very few cases and will be thrown back into lockdown!
Message from my sons high school shows they are taking it seriously

Face Coverings in schools
As you may be aware, guidance around face coverings in schools will be relaxed nationally from Monday 17th May. However, this guidance allows for local decisions to reintroduce face coverings in response to localised outbreaks. Due to the current position within Greater Manchester, our Local Public Health Body has made the decision that in Bolton we should retain the current face covering guidance, involving the wearing of masks in classrooms and indoor circulation/social spaces.
Thank you

Let’s hope common sense prevails, even though it probably won’t verysad
