It is quite bad. 8 teachers at the school I where i assist ate out. 2 on vents. A student died last week. 4th grader. There is a mini-wave crashing through the school. The teacher I work with us so freaked out, we are going to fake a PCR positive test strip so she can duck out for a week. Its not us. Lots of ppl are faking positives and its like the bosses know and get it. Now one wants to be exposed like this but this Goddamn governor

I read this book in my twenties. As a business man, I have re-read some sections. I do dislike her rabid hatred of Robin Hood. I now believe in a social net that keeps crazy people off the streets. You would probably feel the same after a walk through Venice, Santa Monica, or downtown LA. However, left-wingers are going to hate the book and the movies.

Yes. But you should be 3 years of seeds. And aim for 3 years of food.

It took me until this month to truly feel comfortable with our preps.

And if you think that’s a lot of food… what’s your plan for personal hygiene products? Inflation is already happening.

A single order of 200lb powdered milk seemed like a lot, until I did the calculation!
I have owned and used 5y old powdered milk, so I'm fairly sure it'll be ok..

In general I work on about 750,000 calories pp-py (adult).
Food-wise, I have logged EVERYTHING my family ate over the last 18 months and have simply scaled up as I went along.

Activities: well, I have a whole library of stuff to read, you guys to talk to! :)

Transport needs are minimal. I could use a pedal-bike for everything, if I had to. Weather is generally kind where I am. Temperate and wet.

I have some projects to complete.
I have been accumulating spares of anything with 'chips' in it (Hard disk drives, DVD-roms, Microwave Oven(s), Extractor fans, Shower units... )
I think I've almost nailed it.. just a bit more to go.
And I will obviously eat fresh whilst it's available (though I freeze all meat, and will use it sparingly!)

There, I have it covered! Power might be OK between roof solar panels and house battery back-ups. Some days when batteries are full, power goes back to the grid. I would have to up A/c thermostats to above 85 on the hottest days if grid went down. Ok on water. House is fully sprinklered but forest fires are a real concern. Both my sons are expert marksmen (navy son has "expert" medal 228 or higher), but would I really want to live in a world where I have to kill people who want to steal my stuff?

I think at this stage, it isn't even the virus that is our biggest problem. It's the way we are dealing with it, and the utter collapse of civility, manners, motivation and reward.

Edit: I am also blessed that everyone in my live-in family has reasonable health, and feels the same about the vax.. not so regarding distant family, however.

I Liked it so much,m I bought 10 bottles from the distillery and then it won the World Whisky Award for best SpeysideSingle Malt Single Cask!! (only ~650 bottles..) mmmmmm dreamy. The finish lasts for about 60s..(I timed it!)

Oh, I feel for you. I know how, when you have a particular bottling (Duncan T, or such) how hard it can be to find them again. There's a few where I know if I drink them that'll probably be it. And a few where I did drink them.. A "Rare Malts" bottling of an old Mortlach ..sigh..
