I can’t help but think we are approaching some kind of impasse zone now. The vaccinations are sending the virus into retreat. But it will never be eliminated.

Maybe all we are at now is having kicked the can suitably down the road so that we can return to normality in time for summer. The economy is suffering badly and can’t remain in stasis in perpetuity.

Maybe the virus will mutate to workaround humanity’s mitigation strategies and the next impacts will be at a different demographic.
