India not blaming new variants for increase in cases.
Article hints that the reason for the increase could be due to people who have stopped wearing masks, stopped social distancing.
Quoting: CoronaCoaster India, actual infections have inched closer to 300 million in the country of 1.35 billion people, according to a random study of antibodies done by the government.  This suggests India's actual death toll could be 10x to 15x higher than what they say it is. India says their covid death toll is 150k.
