Re: COVID-19 News, Info, Discussion /// Tracking the Spread of the Virus and its Effects /// October Lockdown for UK (pg. 774)
Morning everyone.

Interesting discussions ongoing...

In terms of anecdotes they are certainly useful data points but need to be taken as that. They may as time passes become a trend in which case we can we spotted trends before they became mainstream.

I have one of my own. I offhandedly said to Mrs lightning yesterday that the uk government and media have told us COVID is over. It was tongue in cheek.. she looked me sideways and said ‘no, two parents tested positive last week’ Mrs lightning works in education.

I chuckled and said, ‘Indian were they’? ‘Yes’ she said. But they haven’t been to India.

But, friends or family members recently returned from Delhi!? Who knows. Probably!!

Watch this space. The UK is testing very heavily with laterals now so have a chance of keeping at least a lid on it.

We all know the MSM will skew and manipulate to set a narrative. I spend a lot of time on a specific hashtag. There are very real very desperate people pleading for oxygen, plasma and remdesivir. The situation, in my opinion, is very real

Probably not a good look for foreign embassies to be screaming for oxygen and getting it quick!

No no no,

he specifically called it EVIDENCE

which it isn't

And he didn't even read "I don't know if they had any contact with each other".

So not only is it not evidence for shedding but it's not even confirmed if they had any contact with each other.

I agree he did say there has been evidence of shedding, but he didn't refer to his friend's account as the evidence. Which is why you're getting your panties in such a wad because you misinterpreted.

As I said, I don't have a view on that particular theory myself. However I do know it would serve you well that when you address others in this thread to not come across as so angry.

Coincidence or...?

Europe's infections started their decline from mid-April last year. The same has happenened this year -- cases declined from mid-April.

(It might look like the latest infection wave started to decline during early April for this year, but much of that has to do with loss of reporting over the easter period).

Maybe what some professionals have said about infections are going to be predominantly a seasonal thing could be right?

Thats called lockdowns
 Quoting: Covid19sars2.0

Could be. But the thing is, during the first wave Sweden opted against a lockdown yet their covid deaths reached a peak and subsequently started falling at the same time as other countries in Europe during Mid-April.

For the countries in Europe who did have lockdown, it might be that lockdown helped to bring the number infections down much sooner, but didn't actually make a difference to when the first wave peaked.

The novel coronavirus’ spike protein plays additional key role in illness. Salk researchers and collaborators show how the protein damages cells, confirming COVID-19 as a primarily vascular disease.

LA JOLLA—Scientists have known for a while that SARS-CoV-2’s distinctive “spike” proteins help the virus infect its host by latching on to healthy cells. Now, a major new study shows that they also play a key role in the disease itself.

The paper, published on April 30, 2021, in Circulation Research, also shows conclusively that COVID-19 is a vascular disease, demonstrating exactly how the SARS-CoV-2 virus damages and attacks the vascular system on a cellular level. The findings help explain COVID-19’s wide variety of seemingly unconnected complications, and could open the door for new research into more effective therapies.

“A lot of people think of it as a respiratory disease, but it’s really a vascular disease,” says Assistant Research Professor Uri Manor, who is co-senior author of the study. “That could explain why some people have strokes, and why some people have issues in other parts of the body. The commonality between them is that they all have vascular underpinnings.”

That's interesting,

That would mean that the mRNA vaccines would also cause illness, right?

That seems logical.

However we don't seem to be seeing any widespread side effects yet.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18673709

Someone who is more knowledgable in the scientific arena can provide a better comprehensive than me. However I know the spike proteins are in the vaccines and there are reports of some people having all sorts of side effects from them.
 Quoting: ShylaRose

All the western vacines make the whole spike.
BIG mistake. many auto-immune diseases to follow.
Interestingly, sinovac (Chinese) does not make the whole spike.

The key part of the SALK article is this:

In the new study, the researchers created a “pseudovirus” that was surrounded by SARS-CoV-2 classic crown of spike proteins, but did not contain any actual virus. Exposure to this pseudovirus resulted in damage to the lungs and arteries of an animal model—proving that the spike protein alone was enough to cause disease. Tissue samples showed inflammation in endothelial cells lining the pulmonary artery walls.

Sinovac has a different approach - not making the whole spike.

Another ...RED ALERT...?!

I am thinking about the problem of the vaccines having the spike and making prions... and WHY the Chinese would vaccinate their own if they knew..

This is the literature I have found about Sinovac/Coronavac.
They are INACTIVATED viruses.
Remember, the prion-genesis site is at position 500 on the spike, well within the S1 domain.

Below, the literature shows the S1 protein is cleaved off in the inactivated virus vaccines!

[link to www.biorxiv.org (secure)]
Both Moderna’s mRNA-1273 and Pfizer’s BNT162b2 (7) encodes full length S with two mutations to stabilise the prefusion conformation (8), and Sinovac’s CoronaVac inactivated virus vaccine presents the wild-type S on the viral surface (9), although the majority of spikes are in the postfusion conformation (10).

[link to www.ndm.ox.ac.uk (secure)]
The Architecture of Inactivated SARS-CoV-2 with Postfusion Spikes Revealed by Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET.
Although a small fraction of prefusion spikes are found, most spikes appear nail shaped, thus resembling a postfusion state, where the S1 protein of the spike has disassociated from S2

[link to www.cell.com (secure)]
There is consensus that the engagement of the S1 RBD with the receptor destabilizes the trimer, triggering the shedding of the S1 units, which allows a remarkable conformational change in the spike from a large club-shaped structure into a thin and long nail-like structure.

Morning Lightning!

Thanks for sharing.

Hope you're right. However my gut feeling tells me that if there is still a smaller level of spread going on despite the testing, then once the normality way of living returns it's only a matter of time before the next big wave kicks off. (probably starting September if I had to guess)
