"attacks the vascular system on a cellular level." Holy crap, that's every organ in the body. You really must do everything you can to not catch this monster!

I feel like a canary in the coal mine. Just over four months since my Covid positive test. Fuck.
 Quoting: lightning1977

This may be what all this "long covid" is about. The virus is circulating in the vascular, or blood circulatory, system until it finds a vulnerable organ/organs?
 Quoting: Lago

Proper answer is "I don't know", but in a attempt not to be boring, I'll go with "I don't think so". My understanding of the underlying process is shaky at best but it seems to me the actual "infection" stage, where the virus does damage is mostly limited to two-three weeks. There are extreme's where it's much longer and for most it's shorter but for a ball park figure that seems about right.

The problem is given that the virus can effect (damage) blood vessels, it can effect every part of the body. I'm still iffy on the viability of replication outside some of the sweet spots like the lungs etc. Even though the window for actual damage from the virus would then be short the cascading effects can linger and present with delay.

That might be all wrong though, if it even makes sense.

Fantastic so let’s go and inject everyone with a drug that makes your own body produce the illness causing spike proteins!!

You couldn’t write it could you.

More and more proof the experimental gene therapy jabs will cause a catastrophe?

It's more complicated then that... The article is based on that paper that CC helped me find yesterday, full version here: [link to www.biorxiv.org (secure)]

I need to go over it again, medical papers are harder for me to fully grasp because I need to google half the terms, but simply saying that the vaccine will cause illness doesn't seem to be the correct conclusion.

I am concerned about infections after the shot. Every cases study that I have read plus anecdotal evidence.... it screams lingering things not being discussed properly.

Blinded by science. And normalcy bias. (Not Dutchy.... the medical researchers)

Yeah, given our limited understanding of long-covid I share your concern. Even if the vaccine's don't cause issue's on their own and they ward of the acute clinical symptoms there is very little to suggest it will do the same for the long term symptoms.

My one positive take on this is that the limited reporting seems to point to these problems being rare and relatively insignificant. Even though it can be devastating at the individual scale, in a macro view it seems to have not become a significant problem.

Think 10 years out.... slow vascular breakdown. Permanent MK overproduction.

This is a fuck all it’s own.

They still think fibromyalgia isn’t degenerative..... but weird fact.... over 80% develop some sort of tendinitis and more than half of those go on to need corrective surgeries after the age of 50. Several surgeries.

So short term looks decent. Long term....my guts are screaming for folks to be prepared.

I'm curious aswell about whether the spike proteins induced from the vaccine could cause any issues with the blood vessels. I've looked around but didn't find an answer yet either. Will be interested and grateful to know what you can find on that, Dutchy.

I found this fairly new preprint the other day, Dutchy. I'm not quite sure what to make of it myself. It seems like they're saying they have an idea why long-covid is happening and vaccination could reduce it. But it looks like they didn't provide any data to show that people saw a reduction in long covid after vaccination.

Thoughts?

CC2 on your theory with climates. we have been going down locally since the holidays. never saw a spike after them at all. note-they changed the testing back then.

are winter is coldest from JAN to March.#'s were going down not up. i do think ppl travel less and shop less. so i think there is more to the equation. i do think in theory cold would help it spread more. have not seen that in reality thou.

Which state are you in again?

Generally speaking there were many states which had the early stages of a new wave in March/April. Then you had other states like Texas/California which saw a small uptick around that time, even if it wasn't really something that could be called a new wave. Maybe your area was one of those that saw a small uptick at that time also?

u can't compare my DATA to the state thou. NYC has way too many ppl to tip the iceberg. we did not see cases really til fall. had a small outbreak scare in summer. then a church outbreak and rthen it fired up.

Jazzz, sure some of the things you said must play some role in mitigating/preventing if that's what happened. But just to continue my thought...

Seasonality can go as far back to November, December because althought UV and temp could play a role in slowing the virus it's also important to factor in people's behaviours such as spending more time inside. If the wave peaked in December from seasonality then I would say it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to see a guaranteed surge following right after that in Jan-Feb, because natural wave progression makes it harder to bring up another wave within such a tight period of time. Though an exception to that might be if a variant took off.

Just had a look Jazzz

NYC saw an uptick of a few hundred cases during March, but even without NYC the the rest of NY saw an uptick too.

Not sure about how it was for your county, but yeah for NY outside of NYC it does seem like there was the early stages of the new wave during March. That wave came too late in the season to really take off though (going by seasonality theory).

As Singapore is almost zero local transmission for quite sometimes until this round of mass infections, more evidence for airborne transmission in Singapore.

Note: For full protection of airborne transmission, only N99 or P100 can protect you.
