Isn’t Geert’s theory based on leaky vaccines? If I recall it’s similar to Marek’s disease in chickens.

A new study is the first to confirm a highly controversial theory: that some vaccines could allow more virulent version of a virus to survive, putting unvaccinated individuals at greater risk of severe illness.

The research involves the herpesvirus such as the one that causes Marek’s disease in poultry. The findings, published in PLOS Biology, have important implications for food-chain security and food-chain economics, as well as for other diseases that affect humans and agricultural animals.

“When a vaccine works perfectly, as do the childhood vaccines for smallpox, polio, mumps, rubella, and measles, it prevents vaccinated individuals from being sickened by the disease, and it also prevents them from transmitting the virus to others,” says Andrew Read, a leader of the research team and professor of biology and entomology and biotechnology at Penn State.

These vaccines are a type that is “perfect” because they are designed to mimic the perfect immunity that humans naturally develop after having survived one of these diseases.

“Our research demonstrates that another vaccine type allows extremely virulent forms of a virus to survive—like the one for Marek’s disease in poultry, against which the poultry industry is heavily reliant on vaccination for disease control,” says Venugopal Nair, who led the research team in the United Kingdom where the experimental work related to this study took place. Nair is the head of the Avian Viral Diseases program at the Pirbright Institute, which also hosts the OIE Reference Laboratory on Marek’s disease.

“These vaccines also allow the virulent virus to continue evolving precisely because they allow the vaccinated individuals, and therefore themselves, to survive,” Nair says.

FYI, in Germany the percentage of the Delta/B.1.617.2 has gone from 0.1% to 2.2% in 5 to 6 weeks. Is that what we call "no increase" these days?

I am not trying to be funny.

However, I have snark for eons over folks that think this is just a cold or the flu.

The bird flu was a big deal for birds. So now it has jumped species. That was the big fear years ago when the story broke.

The other unsaid piece of the puzzle is the possibility that Sar-Cov-2 and bird flu combine/mutate.

It's been my understanding that only virus carry RNA. virus pack lightly and the RNA then feeds off other DNA or RNA.

Something about the Sar-Cov-2 that makes it easier to mutate and combine with other DNA or RNA. Are the Chinese setting up for more information to the story with their disclaimer??
 Quoting: misty eyed

Something weird I read on this story is this particular strain of bird flu has low pathogenicity in birds. So the birds don't really get that ill from it, but weirdly when the human did catch it they got ill enough to require hospitalization... wtf verydamned

Jeroen Weimar said authorities were now concerned about examples of transmission with very little contact between cases.

“They’re brushing past each other in a small shop, they’re going around a display home … they’re looking at phones in a Telstra shop,” he said.

“They don’t know each other’s names, and that’s very different from where we’ve been before.

This virus is making significant steps in its evolvution. And probably still a long way to go.

Good luck to those who think the current set of vaccines are going to stop this.

Country with one of world’s highest vaccine rates battling record COVID outbreak

It has one of the highest coronavirus vaccination rates in the world. But the situation in Bahrain also serves as a reminder that high jab numbers offer no guarantee against massive infection surges.

Countries that use Chinese Jabs like Brazil,Chile,The Seychelles and Bahrain

The Media loves to release the Doom News but they always fail to say which kind of vaccine is being used in the country in question

The UAE and Bahrain offer third Sinopharm shots amid questions over vaccine effectiveness

burnit
 Quoting: Cock Goblin (NLI)70891256

Because there's really no need to. Sinopharm's given efficacy rating is supposed to be as high as AstraZeneca's if not higher.

Don't forget UAE and Bahrain use Pfizer and Astrazeneca, too. 70% use Pfizer in the UAE capital where millions live.

And yes... while it tends to be the unvaccinated who tend to have higher positive rates in the countries where there are higher rates of vax, the vaxxed still don't escape infection in many instances either.

Remember all the studies saying how the vaccines prevented 99% of transmission or whatever it was? Well for case surges like this to be happening in several countries where the vaccination rate is high to me suggests the vaccines aren't that effective in preventing transmission as those studies made out to be. The vaccinated are probably spreading it to the unvaccinated frequently.

That the transmission could still be at a decent level in vaccinateds means they can spread mutated forms of the virus just like the unvaccinated folks.

Dr David Nabarro, the World Health Organisation's special envoy on COVID-19: "vaccine-beating" forms of the virus will almost certainly emerge sooner or later.

To clarify: The virus already beats the vaccines. People can get infected easily despite having had the vaccine, even if the acute virus symptoms are lessened. I mean it's a coronavirus for crissake. What the guy means is forms of the virus will emerge that make people vulnerable to severe acute infection.
