Warning, if you come down with Covid and weren't vaccinated, you will get billed.
Health officials at UAMS are looking at the costs for COVID-19 patients as cases continue to surge in Arkansas. Dr. Steppe Mette, the CEO at UAMS, said the hospital started keeping new records to calculate costs for those patients. He said that if an individual contracts COVID-19, they and their insurance company are going to bear the cost while COVID-19 vaccinations are free. It sets a really bad precedent. Will hospitals be able to charge differing amounts for smokers, obesity, etc?
