You're a lot less likely to get infected, but it's by no means rare. Before Delta... that statement was accurate. Not so much now. But... people are stupid and think the vaccine makes your dick fly off, or in rare cases growth of ass teeth. So they gotta lie.  The lying worked (for the gov), until it didn't. It's clear to many now what's going on so if they don't cut lose from that line quickly they will just do more harm in reaching their objectives in the long run anyway.
