Someone generously gave me an upgrade so I think in honor of Hagar, I am bringing back his avatar for this month that I am upgraded. I'll post the picture of his sister, Cali, once the smilie gets approved by a mod and a picture of him and her together the last time they were together February of 2019 when I was watching my daughter's kitties while she was recovering from her unfortunate stabbing incident. Over the weekend he quit eating and was throwing up what little I could coax him into eating. I got him into the vet first thing Monday. The vet thought it was thyroid and he would need medicine. We left him overnight to get IV fluids, an anti-nausea medicine, something to stimulate appetite, and in case they needed to do x-rays on Tuesday when they got the blood work back. Tuesday they called me that they weren't going to have the blood work that day so I picked him up. Yesterday the vet called to discuss the blood work, but I was napping. When I got up I returned her call, but she was with a patient. She never called me back yesterday. I got up this morning and called her. She told me that she was shocked by the blood work. He was in full blown renal failure. She said he didn't act like a cat in renal failure. Basically, there was nothing more to do than to put him out of his misery instead of letting him linger on. He was only 8 years old. Renal failure in a cat so young is unusual. I swear it’s shit they add to the food. We have also lost sweet fur babies to the preservative shit they add to their food. So sorry for your heartache |
