Grocery prices have skyrocketed since the pandemic began, forcing struggling Americans to make tough choices

I feel that if people really stopped and looked at how much food they waste, they would be horrified. My family has a 'no food waste' rule. I cook every day, and my husband takes the leftovers for work lunches. Any scraps of cooked vegetables and meat are fed to our 2 German Shepherds. Any scraps such as coffee grounds and egg shells are composted for garden fertilizer. Make a meal plan and stick to it, that way you will never be tempted to spend on drive through meals.

there are thousands of ways to save money and you just haven't thought of many of them. I'm still learning.

this is how we are freezing our eggs and we are using the silicone cup cake holders. The eggs come out real easy and you can reuse them as well.

I keep a strict spreadsheet tracking all of my income and expenses per month on a yearly basis.
January 2020, total food bill for one, vegan diet, 1 - 2 meals per day $225 for the month.
July 2020, same as above, just shy of $650.

Nothing changed eating wise, yet my food bill has gone up substantially.

Produce costs are through the roof, and quality has gone downhill. I get, maybe, two days on fresh greens before they rot overnight. It’s absurd.

Even though I don’t eat meat, I’ve taken notice to those prices going sky high. Sale prices now are what the regular prices were back in January...
