Why are they protesting?

1. They know or have a hunch they were bombed.

2. The negligence of storing "billions and billions of ammonium nitrate" in a concentrated location.

3. They are just a shithole and this is business as usual.

This could be the start of a new Lebanese civil war. Hezbollah will get backing from Syria and Iran.

I will speculate as to why their protesting. 100,000 of them are now homeless which means they are likely as well foodless, and their government are widely regarded as corrupt shitbergs.

So I would say food is a very probably reason.

Officials long warned of explosive chemicals at Beirut port

BEIRUT (AP) — At least 10 times over the past six years, authorities from Lebanon’s customs, military, security agencies and judiciary raised alarm that a massive stockpile of explosive chemicals was being kept with almost no safeguard at the port in the heart of Beirut, newly surfaced documents show.

Yet in a circle of negligence, nothing was done — and on Tuesday, the 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate blew up, obliterating the city’s main commercial hub and spreading death and wreckage for miles around.

Aoun’s comments were the most senior confirmation that top politicians had been aware of the stockpile.

“The material had been there for seven years, since 2013. It has been there, and they said it is dangerous and I am not responsible. I don’t know where it was placed. I don’t even know the level of danger. I have no authority to deal directly with the port,” he told a news conference.

Police fired teargas at protesters in Beirut on Saturday after thousands turned out in the city centre to demand accountability for one of the biggest non-nuclear explosions the world has seen.
Driven by anger at the corruption and incompetence that appears to have fostered Wednesday’s tragedy, a crowd gathered in Martyrs Square, where activists have erected a mock gallows for Lebanon’s top politicians.
More than 150 people died in the blast, around 5,000 were injured and at least 60 are still missing, according to the health ministry.
The protesters chanted “the people want the fall of the regime,” and held posters saying “leave, you are all killers”. When a group tried to break through the barrier blocking a street leading to parliament, security forces used teargas.
“We want a future with dignity, we don’t want the blood of the victims of the explosion wasted,” said Rose Sirour, one of the demonstrators. No one in the streets set any store by government promises to hold those responsible to account.

They don't have the $ to rebuild. They don't trust their officials.

Some want France to come in and take back over.
they want France to back a revolution and overthrow and take Lebanon back as a colony.

You've also forgotten that Lebanon's main grain storage facility was right next to the warehouse that detonated....

The grain that actually survived the blast is very likely to be far too contaminated to be salvageable leaving Lebanon, which was already in a food related crisis, an estimated less than 30 days until it is out of grain entirely!

Not only are a massive chunk of the population now homeless, without cars, and etc but they're also facing looming starvation TODAY!

Even before this blast the food situation In Lebanon was such that one potato costd what a kilogram (approximately 2 pounds and 2 ounces) of potatoes cost last year!

Additionally, Lebanon had been in talks with China for various economic projects etc so if it were any other year but this year China would have been very likely to donate food almost immediately after the blast. But it's this year and china as well as most of Asia and Africa are already facing food shortages of varying severity themselves.

In other words, whatever help Lebanon does get is not going to be anything close to enough, especially after hezbollah steals 80% of it like they have always and will always continue to do whenever Lebanon gets any outside aid.

You're going to see a lot more of that going forward especially as people realize that the chicoms aren't actually their friends and have no intention of actually helping the little people In the countries they're making deals with.

Globalism has been shown to be a farce and a real extinction level danger.

Suddenly being a colony of the Whitey's don't look so bad.

No way..much less diverse and not nearly as many single white moms.

They are protesting corruption and incompetence in government and politicians. They are also protesting Hezbollah's grip on the country.

Hezbollah and the PLO turned Lebanon into hell. I was once a very nice country.
