BREAKING & CONFIRMED!!! - Unemployment Supplementation benefits EXTENDED - Is there really not a thread on this yet?!

Mine was extended. My filing day on TWC is Wednesday. It said that I had no more benefits remaining. I filed anyway and got the email that there was an upcoming deposit. On Friday, I received a payment that no longer had the extra $600. I believe it was $300 plus regular unemployment. The statement said I have several weeks of money remaining so it must have been extended. I have never been able to claim as a substitute before and I have no idea about how it is supposed to work in Texas but that is what I experienced.

Including an extension of current Enhanced UI Benefits. An amount of $400 additional per week on top of whatever normal UI benefits are for qualifying individuals, have been extended for up to 20 additional weeks.

Albeit $200 less per week than the originally drafted $600 per week, this comes at a crucial time that many families need some kind of help immediately, with the OG $600 addition per week coming to an end back on 7/31.

Talks are already in place about getting the ball rolling "asap", but chatter of it taking "up to 2-3 weeks to fully kick in" are already being heard.

As powerful of a move as this may seem to be to many - it appears that the final decision and implementation of how to disperse these benefits, still lies in the hands of individual states and their competence/willingness to do so.

Supposedly the funds are there - it's just a matter of starting the train.

I'm curious how this will resonate with the general public that are currently unemployed and depend on it. Does it swing would be Trump discriminators in that bracket into now fans of a vote in Nov... or does it further infuriate them because now Orange Man Bad took $200/week form them.

Lots of people are starting to run out or getting close. Don't worry though. Trump included a 13 week extension in the CARES Act. Many governors have put in their own 13 week or 20 week extensions, and this EO gives a 20 week boost. When your current one runs out, one of the extensions will kick in. When that runs out, the other extensions will (if you're in a state that gave an extension).

Technically, it's up to the states. Some governors may not comply. But if they do, the Feds will pay 75%, the state 25% (so $300 from the Feds + $100 from the state per person per week).

We'll have to wait a day or two for the governors to respond.
