The executive order plans to use the DHS Disaster Relief Fund with about $70 Billion in it. So its not all smoke and mirrors but it could very well lead to litigation and is $70 billion enough. That is probably why he only did $300 from the federal side. $300 x 25,000,000 (eligible for unemployment) x 16 (weeks till end of year) = $120 Billion

Those are very rough number. Not sure why they thought $70 Billion was enough. Maybe they are anticipating Congress passing a complete package by then.

All that being said, even if there are lawsuits, people will be getting an additional $300 for now.

I don't like it was done through executive decree, though Trump did give Dems and Repubs some time to reach an agreement. They didn't do that. In general I don't think increased executive power is good for the Republic.
