User ID: 25022811 United States 08/09/2020 09:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | do yall have any DUMBS underground? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14940953 maybe the war is happening below...well we all know it is. maybe thats what caused it? Actually thinking about the DUMBs map - had 2 overlays showing ancient and really fuckin' deep tunnels w/ one above it showing the tunnel connections. If memory is correct there is one from Atlanta to our mountains. Am getting coffee in me, not firing on all 8 cylinders just yet but if shallow depth, makes me wonder if someone(s) is taking out these underground places. On a side note....the last several days/nights, horrendous t-storms, shaking my place. Not your average storm front moving thru either. It's like a line that just continues to pop up and just sit on top of area, hardly moving. Noticed during my power blips last night that lightning strikes heavily concentrated in area right over the eastern Wake county batholith area that is ancient. Granite formation that is focus of a lot of USGS folks over the decades. And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking. That is what I call 'sustained incoherence.' ...David Bohm “How, O Zenobia, hast thou dared to insult Roman emperors?” ...Aurelian, 44th Emperor of the Roman Empire |

Quoting: beeches the Mineral Ridge earthquake was felt all over including Delaware It the bedrock strip that runs up the eastern inland coast. Which is why that 4.7 in Virginia a number of years ago was swinging chandeliers in Connecticut. |

The Mineral Ridge quake was 5.8 [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Was working near Burlington that day doing computer work w/ someone when it hit. During that one week, NC experienced quake, hurricane and tornado. That was a very wild wk. Didn't notice it on my end of the state but my area sits on top of east coast batholith. Glad someone else remembers that week! The tornado hit my office building in downtown Raleigh. No shit, what a wk that was for us affected by 1-2-3 punch! Some very creative person made a hilarious t-shit citing these events and 'so, how was YOUR week?' Wish I could've snagged one of those t-shirts back then. Just finished reading glp article about how someone was saying that there has been a mad rush to buy huge underground earth movers. Quoting: Light Bulb They're probably blasting underground for the voids needed for housing and offices and storage... :fireplace: "Remember when we used to treat colds and flu with chicken soup, saltwater gargles and warm tea instead of Communism?" |

Wonder where they were reporting feeling it in TN. Since it was felt in Asheville I would assume maybe around Roan Mountain, Elk Park area? We felt it in Jonas Ridge, NC, 14 miles from the TN border/ |

I think I heard it before I felt it. 5.1 Looks like several small ones with the 5.1 being the largest. I happened to sleep in this morning (which I never do), so I slept right through it. My dog didn't even wake up. Most of the neighbors felt it, though, here in my section of NE Georgia. |
