If Putin really cared about stability in the post-Soviet states he would not act to help prop up Lukashenka at this point but would help with a transitional government.


I hope Russian tanks don't go in.

It is impossible to believe the people back home are voting much differently from Belarussians in Moscow and Munich.

Looks like she actually won and they are doing this to save a face

The Kremlin will view this an another Ukraine style revolution and a strategic threat. What they do is anyone's guess.

One can hope.

Maybe Putin will realize that like Poroshenko, Lukashenka's time has come.

Like the Russian people in general, the Belarussian people are brave and proud.


Not easily cowed into laying down for a dictator they hate.

Lukashenko may be a dictator, but at least he didnt impose corona BS on his people and told IMF and WHO to GTFO, which makes him better than most "democratic" European governments.

I don't believe in benevolent dictatorship.


Sell it to someone who will buy it.

Keeping a close eye on this one.

This is not Ukraine.

This is not being fomented by the US State Department or George Soros.

This is the people of Belarus rising up against their corrupt dictator of nearly 30 years.

It would be a big mistake if Moscow viewed this as being the same as the Maidan in Kiev.

I am not one of the kneejerk Russopobes around here.

I am still hoping Russia can help calm the situation and help Belarus transition from dictatorship to a a government that is more accountable to the people.

It is like 1989 all over again.

"Democratic" governments around the world are turning into tyrannies, if you haven't noticed. Old definitions seem rather obsolete right now, as obviously a global dictatorship is being set up. I still would prefer a patriotic dictator to the democratic whores selling us out to global government, organizations and corporations.
