but you are saying something like you know something about something i experience, I have trouble with people sometimes trouble making friends. and believe me, i no pity party I understand i have some kind of problem, something related to communication and emotions

Trust me, man. Stupid is better. I once had drive, but my family wanted me to be their meal ticket. Eventually I realized that any time I showed promise in anything, they would attach themselves to me and suck all the blood out. It's what they do. So I stopped accomplishing anything. The key to understanding it is that my family could have found someone else, but it's the offense of being told no that is their motivation. They think they own people, which is odd when the people they insist on this most with are people they played little to no part in cultivating the value that they COVET about them.

Now we could go on all day about this, but fucking people is what my family does. It's seemingly all they do, and things like talent, kindness, creativity, skills--these are all second-banana to the traits they actually value and the protection of those who have them. So sometimes being stupid is being smart. End of story.

I remember when they started to blackmail me at the dinner table, threatening to tell my friends my mother wasn't dead and that continued for years, my grades dropped, I became isolated, and eventually they pulled the trigger on it anyway. It was the most important lesson in my life about dealing with people who threaten to harm loved ones. Now, they want me to lie for them, despite having punished me for lying. It's only power that makes them oblivious to the cognitive dissonance, but all the manipulation in the world isn't going to make me forget what they did or that the justification for having caused so much harm was a throwaway one.

You can talk all you want about how many people are going to get hurt by this, or how moral you are for your selective enforcement of consequences. But we both know it's just a game, and that the death and destruction is the cost of it being just a game. I leave the playing of it to those who were born into places that already benefited from it.
