Even the most well to do states are saying it would be untenable to give you that extra $100.... So now you're waiting on $300 that may or may not come, and if it does, it won't be for weeks. |

[link to www.dailymail.co.uk (secure)] - Millions of unemployed will NOT get $400 ($300 in reality)-a-week boost this week Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin admits saying 'most states' might be able to pay 'in next week or two' Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Monday that millions of jobless Americans may not see the promised $300-per-week unemployment boost for a few weeks as several states say they don't have the money to help pay those increased benefits. 'We're thinking within the next week or two most of the states will be able to execute,' Mnuchin told reporters when pressed on a timetable for the new payments at a press briefing Monday evening. During Donald Trump's coronavirus briefing, however, the president could not say if all the governors had signed off on paying out 25 per cent of the $300-per-week boost. |

"Ignorance of the law is no excuse." Said by the judge when I asked him how they could arrest me for public drunk when I was inside a bar, paying for drinks, that got me drunk. Yeah, I got some money off my fine because the judge thought that was a good question even if it wasn't true. LOL This is being done under FEMA. The parts are... [link to www.fema.gov (secure)] Snippets: Disaster Unemployment Assistance (pg. 3) The Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) program provides unemployment benefits and re-employment services to individuals who have become unemployed because of major disasters. Benefits begin with the date the individual was unemployed due to the disaster incident and can extend up to 26 weeks after the Presidential declaration date. These benefits are made available to individuals not covered by other unemployment compensation programs, such as self-employed, farmers, migrant and seasonal workers, and those who have insufficient quarters to qualify for other unemployment compensation. Hazard Mitigation (pg. 4) Hazard Mitigation refers to sustained measures enacted to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from natural hazards and their effects. In the long term, mitigation measures reduce personal loss, save lives, and reduce the cost to the nation of responding to and recovering from disasters. Two sections of the Stafford Act, §404 and §406, can provide hazard mitigation funds when a Federal disaster has been declared. In each case, the Federal government can provide up to 75 percent of the cost, with some restrictions. end snippets...... This is why the states have to fund $100 of it. That's 25% of $400. If the states don't want to cough up or can't, they need to be pressuring Congress and the Senate to pass something. This is the best Trump can do with the laws on the books. It's not a trick. But the states will have to cough up or the feds will not be able to kick in their $300 a week. Blame it on Congress and the Senate. They are not doing their jobs. And today, I watched them stand up there and bitch about these 4 things Trump just signed and bitch and whine and moan and cry like a baby with diaper rash. Such BS. They did not talk about passing anything or what they should put in it or nothing like that. They just pissed and moaned about Trump. Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump. I was so tired of hearing them whine about Trump I didn't bother to listen to it all. Broken record. Crap. Mofos, all of them. |
