Strawberry Girl User ID: 12651613 United States 08/12/2020 11:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard that walmart fills their online orders first before they even put stuff out for the in-store shoppers. I don't shop walmart but it's something to think about. I get my groceries delivered by one of our local grocers. They usually have what I want, but they are pretty slow about updating what is and what isn't in stock. I don't know if they do these before things get put out in the store, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Still, I feel better about shopping there, knowing I'm helping a local family rather than a huge corporation, so for now I can deal with it. They need the business more than walmart. I haven't stepped into a grocery store in months, and I'm so curious about how they look now. Goodbye, halcyon days... There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

Every shelf, every aisle - full of every item normally available. I bet other stores are running short, just due to this one getting 1st priority. Zero social distancing, however - I'll wait to tomorrow morning to do a proper grocery run. It sure will be nice while it lasts. |

Quoting: Boojihadeen 51790401 Walmart's here close at at 8:00. It's bullshit. They went from 24 hours for as long as I've lived here to closing at 8PM. Malls aren't even open. It's all fun & games until the Dogman stands up Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Shit! I went to the local Kroger chain today (in Colorado). It was actually really bleak. It was the first time I'd physically been in a grocery store since early April when things were *really* bad. I thought I'd be walking back into a stocked store like before all this started , but large swaths of shelves were empty and it really seemed like most manufacturers were only making/selling the very basic of flavors/varieties now. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72498961 Really made me realize how good we had it before with options. It felt pretty third worldy, not gonna lie. |

Some guy was walking toward me down the aisle. I saw him out of the corner of my eye, and it looked like he bounced off something. I turned to look at him and he was about 6 feet away from me with a petrified look in the eyes of his masked face. I looked at him like, what's your fucking problem, man? And he did a 180 and almost ran in the other direction. It was like he hit this imaginary force field bubble that his deranged mind constructs around EVERYONE ELSE. When he saw I had no mask on, he probably raced home and took a bath in Lysol. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79245314 United States 08/12/2020 11:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I went to the market last night. Maybe people Quoting: slivervx are sensing the empending fall season coming? Can't speak as to the whole nation but I know in my area people have doubts things are going to go smoothly in the next few months. Schools are going back in and that is one source of doubt. Colleges are bringing people from all over the nation back into one spot and Manhattan (Kansas State) is loosening restrictions on the bar district not requiring basic questions/medical checks before staff go on shift. Alcohol and idiots are a dangerous mix. Quite a few I've talked to that work at the college say a month before they cut the semester early is the optimist opinion. Even those that are optimistic about CoVID are prepping for the election. I've seen people of both persuasions (yes, some democrats exist even in rural Kansas) have the opinion that no matter whom is elected, things could get rough. They don't want to use the words "Civil War" but their tone of voice and body language say it for them. Then you have the meteor theories floating around. I've had a few people I wouldn't have thought to have been into such things ask me about them (I've gained a sort of "know it all" status for the news as I keep away from MSM and read from around the globe). In short there is A LOT of fear from many directions. This gets people wanting to feel like they are doing something proactive and the best thing you can do to scratch that itch is stock up on food, buy more ammo, and keep the car well maintained/fueled up. Even have had people ask about getting winter tires early "just in case." I live in Manhattan Kansas area and can confirm all the above. I stay out of downtown and Aggieville I avoid like the plague. (Pun intended) And honestly, I dont think there's going to be an election. Im not the only one, many people I know feel like the end is here. We are living out the Prophecy and Testimony of Jesus Christ foretold in Revelation. Watch the skies. Watch Israel in the coming weeks. Prepare for the winter, yes, but more importantly, prepare your soul and get right with God. Cause we are in for a bumpy ride. |

Our grocery stores here are pretty much back to normal. Hobby Lobby has low stock. At Home was half empty. It was shocking.
