You parents out there, how do you get your kids to eat vegetables?

I never broke. ..I was a tiny malnurished waif of a child and my Father was 300 pounds of fat and muscle. Scary m-fer and I never broke. I took my beatings and sat and cried but I never ate the vegetables. I had a very sorry childhood. Haha. Got as far away from my family as soon as I could. A whole continent in fact.

The next day? Wow... now that's consistent! I'm impressed.

I am a chick :D. I eat lots of vegetables nowadays. I literally couldnt eat the vegetables, you understand. I couldnt eat potatoes as a kid either, they made choke. Im with the dont force it crowd.

If you have the space, a little home garden might be a fun way to get them involved and interested in the veggies. If they see the planting of the seeds as their own sort of project, and the care of the plant.. they might then be excited to go harvest some fresh string beans or snap peas or whatever off the garden, as it is "their" vegetables, you know? Kids might be funny in that way.

I don't have the space and my backyard floods every time it rains but I have learned a few things from this thread.

I'm going to get them more involved in cooking the meal, so they feel some ownership, and we will chip away at this.

If you are up for it and have a place inside to put it, you could make an indoor hydroponic garden for relatively cheap. And since it's inside you could grow year round. Tons of YouTube information and it doesn't have to be a huge setup.

Ironically, it's rather easy for parents feed vegetables to children who are vegetables...what sort of vegetables do vegetables like I wonder?

My son skipped the third grade because he was too advanced.

As weird as it sounds kids like veggie drinks (homemade that v8 shot is horrible for u) mixed with blended shakes.
My uncle and aunt just started doing this they were forcing them to eat the veggies and the brothers were not liking it.

My parent never made me eat vegetables other than a potato. They should be used as condiments or side dishes and are not meant to be a mainstay of the human diet.

Throw your multivitamins away or you are setting your children up for a lifetime of chronic illness.

Everybody loves cheesy broccoli

By growing my own perma-culture garden and having the kids help. They eat right off the plants, much better than store bought produce; they instinctively know something is wrong with the stuff they sell at stores. Plants start losing nutrient compounds the moment they are picked, plus the stuff at stores is grown in poor soil and sprayed.

Some kids truly don't like vegetables. Three of mine love them, one was a battle.

I let him eat what he would eat, as long as it wasn't junk, and just made sure he got the nutrients he needed.

He seems okay now. I mean, he's a mechanical engineer so it didn't hurt his brain, and he is in good physical shape as well.

I have a friend that reused to eat anything green...even as an adult he never ate vegetables and in his mid thirties he developed two small brain tumors...he had them removed and he's ok...for now...

I dont know how old your kid is but my daughter didn't like drinking water, just juice. So I started having water drinking races with her and usually let her win.
Now she laughs about it.
I'm not suggesting u have them race eat- cause they can choke or get sick but find a way to make it fun. Like a game. Like who can eat more broccoli contest gets a small prize.

Chimpanzees spend many hours a day chewing greens, we could probably learn a lot from them.
