I have an Austin story mostly for the ladies. I spent a week in Austin back in the 90s. In my thirties still on some sort of vision quest. The original person I was supposed to spend the week with turned out to be a total dud, so I ditched him and found this cool as f hotel room overlooking the river, super cheap. I stayed there the entire trip it was such a great funky place.

So I do the usual Austin stuff and head downtown. I walk into a bar and across the room was this mind blowingly hot hipster surfer type guy. The nearest I can come to a description is he was a cross of the character Spicoli played by Shawn Penn when he was 20, and Brad Pitt in his prime. I went up to him and started chatting and we hit it off.

He ended up spending the entire week with me, and didn't want me to go back. He was a hopeless alcoholic. It was fun for a week, but I told him life with him would always be filled with alcoholic drama. Sure enough I looked him up on the internet 20 years later, and fuck, he's serving 20 for a DWI that killed someone.

Austin chased the High Tech jobs, the ones that bring in the Liberal Fringe which is just barely to the right of the East Coast College professor crowd.

VOILA ... Austin is now solidly in the Blue camp, and getting more crazy Liberal by the month, with all the "ideas" that that entire camp believes and tries to impose on everybody else.

Texas is following in Austin's footsteps, thinking that the high tech jobs are the key to happiness, wealth, and a beautiful population of unicorns. As a result Texas will also follow Austin down the color palette into a strong Blue color.

Texas is on it's way to follow California, only 15-20 years later ... and it will be just as ugly when it gets there as California is today.

Am I missing something? How do you get those numbers without the police interaction?

Usually those are based on reports.. from arrests or incidents?

I currently have a place in Austin and out in West Texas and am just amazed at how quickly Austin has moved to the left. It was always pointed that direction but bc of the rest of Texas and it's values there was always a balance. I don't see this lasting here though. It's the fastest growing city in the US. More jobs and wealth have been created in Austin than any city in the country in the last 10 to 20 years. When Google and Apples campuses are being destroyed and the wealth is threatened I have a feeling these officials will get the boot and Texas will rally around Austin.

Texas will be where this Marxist battle is fought I believe. If you are from Texas you know how people feel about the whole damn state much less Austin. Austin has been taken over by jobless Californians fleeing over the last decade by the tens of thousands. They get to Austin pay a ridiculous amount for a home bc the are used to it in California which has inflated the price of homes in Austin. They bitch about California constantly but what do they do when they get to Austin? They California the shit out it.

People in Austin and all of Texas fucking hate Californians coming in bc of this shit right here. I think it's been said before but I'll say it again. If we lose Texas to these fucking idiots we lose the whole damn country.

Out in West Texas however I've seen one BLM flag. They had one little Rally where a retard brought an assault rifle to shoot MAGA people which ended the whole thing quickly. It's a completely different world and reminds me why I'm proud to be a Texan. If you want to live in a normal world where people work, party go to church, take care of their families and still lookout for their neighbor West Texas is still American Pie as hell.

I hope you are wrong but with California cockroaches scattering like they are we're looking down that barrel. The thing that gives me hope is I run into more conservative/libertarian minded people in Austin than crazy Liberal. It's just that the crazy liberal is the loudest.

It will be a hell of a fight though. Texans mean it when they say "come and take it". I really do think Texas will be the hold out bc of it's size and wealth. We bring in more money a year than the entire country of Russia. Thank about that. If you let Texas fall to these Communist it's game over. The other conservative states don't have the wealth or the people or the pride to actually take on the entire rest of the country and I seriously without a doubt could see Texas having it's own civil war one day.

Cops do prevent crime by being seen and available...would be criminals think twice when there's a large police presence...Why do convertibles have door locks? All you need to do is slice the top...it's a deterrent...
