Kratom for pain relief? Help needed please | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78581268 United States 08/12/2020 04:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hey yall, I am trying to find natural supplements to help my husband with his back pain re: bulging and herniated discs from his L5 to his C3, spinal stenosis, sciatica, and disc degeneration. He hasn't had problems in years and just recently due to his workload and physical demands around the house, is now in pain again. Quoting: SweetB I want to see if kratom will work for him and would really appreciate any help, input, experience, etc from those of you who have personal experience with it in regard to similar pain and injury that he is having. He would need something he can use at work without being sleepy or groggy. Unfortunately we live in one of the few states where it's schedule 1 so I can't order samples or have anything shipped here, but the state line is a short drive. We will be vacationing there soon and can pick some up to try. Can you recommend any gas station or head shop brands that are decent? I wanted to get some different kinds to try and see which works best for him before purchasing a larger amount. Thanks Yes. Kratom for pain management, depression, anxiety, lack of energy, etc. etc. Big pharma hates it and has been trying to get it banned for obvious reasons. Who wants to take a pill when you can eat a leaf instead? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79196948 Been taking it three years and I've seen no dependency or withdrawals. Have much the same back problems, but in April a chunk broke off the herniated disc and jammed into a nerve root, I woke up one morning crippled and screaming in pain. I finally realized I needed to raise my dose, I began taking one tablespoon, level and measured, of Red Bali every two to four hours. Finally got back surgery in July, surgeon wanted five days of no kratom before surgery. I ended up in the hospital for two days before surgery just for pain control, and an extra day in the hospital after same-day surgery. I'm still recovering and back to the dosage that sustained me for 2 1/2 years. I think all the tales of addiction and withdrawal come from people who take it for a high, then they take more and more to repeat that feeling. My opinion, taken at medicinal levels, it far less of a problem. I just haven't seen any problems myself. The surgery only stopped the leg pain, I still have high intensity pain in the low back, and I'm left with a half numb foot. Unfortunately I am unable to get it online in my state. I am so sorry about your injury, sounds awfully painful. And then the surgery not taking care of all your issues, ugh. That is why my husband opted not to do surgery, the fear of it making it worse or not helping at all. Prayers and blessings to you that you recovery beautifully, and that you're able to manage your pain in a natural way as you did before. Thanks alot for your opinion and experience! I probably would have had a better outcome if I could've gotten the surgery right away, but the first surgeon I talked to said there was no surgery for my condition, he's an idiot. I feel the delay is the reason I have permanent nerve damage in my foot. You do have to watch and be aware, kratom will cause constipation if taken enough. So just keep track and use a mild laxative as needed. Lucky side effect for me, since I have IBS-D, it makes everything normal. However, when I was taking it every 2-4 hours, I did have an encounter with pretty bad constipation, now I know to keep track. |

Thanks High THC flower and CBD I'm living with a completely blown out knee with cartilage damage from taking a bad step off a ladder. Soon after smoking I can move again without too much pain. Kratom works much better in conjunction with opiates and does very little for me by itself A little is better than nothing though I don't need other pain meds with the THC and CBD combo Heat then ice then heat and keeping moving and stretching between Epsom salts baths and warm salt with a solvent as a warm compress. I warm the salt in a pan, wrap the salt in a hand towel, drop a couple tbs. of turpentine on it and keep it on where it hurts and is swollen for 5-10 minutes moving it around. Then wash the area with soap and water. That shit works great but smells and is flammable. So don't be a tard. Tumeric helps a bit with swelling as well I like golden milk Here's salt with vinegar. I prefer the turpentine method though. That dude has tons of natural remedies videos He is a wealth of natural health knowledge. I just found out he is doing daily podcasts. He hasn't posted to YT for a long time. |

I have seen them in Mi and NC. I would search for an actual store. Head shops carry it for the most part but the quality is not reliable and it is more expensive. For pain I agree with the earlier poster you want a red strain. If you want less sedation green strains can help with pain as well. White strains have less pain relieving properties and are geared more for physical and mental energy. Has he tried a TENS unit? Many with nerve/back pain find TENS units very helpful. Salonpas is an over the counter pain relief patch that works amazingly well. Last Edited by akaSuzanne on 08/13/2020 06:12 PM |
