I didn't create my own reality when I was bullied at school and after I left school the bullying continued. Just as those who are born into war torn countries and lower organisms who are devoured shortly after birth through predation did not choose this reality for themselves.

Woolly ideas such as, we are each responsible for shaping our own reality, are often promulgated by those who have led charmed and carefree lives so have the luxury of cultivating this viewpoint. It's bad philosophy espoused by clichéd New Age types.

Everything in the universe is down to chance and some people are more lucky than others. The notion that consciousness somehow creates its own reality is absurd and would violate natural laws.
