I'm a huge gun advocate, I carry a S&W model 642 airtight in .38...yeah its a .38 & only 5 shots but its the best carry gun I've ever had...My 9mm is a full size 18 rounds but my .38 will fit in my pocket & is hammerless, won't snag! I don't understand idiot's who walk around cocked & locked all this tells me is they don't practice & are lazy...same thing with my home weapon, 12 ga.pump....i don't leave it loaded because once a week I practice loading it & cycle dummy rounds, I can get 5 shells in & cycle them in under 10 seconds.. moral is if you're going to own a weapon, for God's sake know how to use it. Unfortunately because of ammo scarcity I'm only getting to the range once a month instead of weekly...My AR is lonely & begs to open up... lol

I've been saying this for years, the lack of a safety should be illegal.

It's doing a lot more harm than good to have people walking around five pounds of pressure on a trigger from killing someone.

That's the only safety there is on a Glock. Read the manual that comes with it. The gun will fire if chambered when the trigger is depressed.

You can't. Carrying is not for everybody. So many people got all their gun training from watching movies made by gun grabbers in Hollyweird. If you think the way it's done in the movies is correct, you should not own a gun. Most Hollyweird stars are progressive liberal gun grabbers. They don't have any idea how to handle a gun.

I disagree, My M&P (Police style) only has trigger safety, Glock 23 both have 3.5lb triggers. My AR and blkout are also 3.5lb triggers.

but I would never carry less holster or worse old leather holsters. Stick with a good fitting kydex holster. But most important is train to holster until you no longer have to look at what your doing get used to drawing your firearm and holstering with clothing like you would normally wear.

A glock is no more dangerous than a loaded double action revolver.

Always carry with one in the chamber, but make sure you've got a holster that covers the trigger. I've seen plenty of videos that the guy gets smoked that tries to draw and cock the gun. It just takes way too long in a self defense situation.

carry chambered but put the pistol in the holster THEN put the whole deal in your pants if you insist on carrying appendix, and preferably a kydex holster with active retention.

failed to holster properly
failed to holster outside of pants in appendix carry, then drop holster and firearm into place
failed to test different forms of movement or clothing without any ammunition in the pistol to check for snagging or reholstering issues.

glocks go bang, and we buy them because they go bang on demand, but with that comes the need for 100% holster use and disciplined understanding of what can go wrong.

i would generally say always carry chambered but it just depends where you are. if im in my car its not essential as i have a barrier. if im in the hood, yeah, its got one in the pipe.

if im at home, either way.

Some appendix carriers will cut a piece of kevlar and put it in the holster where the barrel end is just in caes.
