If socialism is so good then which socialist country should I move to? | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 79233079 Australia 08/14/2020 08:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Who says this? Why do you refuse to answer this? Is it because nobody actually says full socialism is good? because you are being disingenuous and you know it Lol you are the one claiming socialism is so good like it's a given fact, when what people actually claim is to want good social security. Disingenuous? lol, nice projection So what you are doing is softening the message from the left radicals to something people will be ok with, They do not say that at all. They say socialism. Even Bernie. Not we need a better safety net. |

Insurance companies in the US are in bed with pharma companies to pump prices and share the profit. In Europe, one of the actor (the insurance) is public so it can tell pharma company "fuck you, 500$ is absurd. Offer a fair price or we are going to blacklist you and tell patients to buy somewhere else". It's a good thing to limit the greed of companies. VERY VERY bad example Trump just fixed this with an executive order. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79165302 United Kingdom 08/14/2020 08:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most Americans are so selfish, that the idea to pay slightly more taxes to get bigger benefits is hideous to them, because other people benefit it too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78477393 In their mind it's literally "I can't accept this if it benefits someone else too. I rather pay more to make sure nobody else benefits from it". It's irrational, sociopathic, and extremely short sighted. Imagine you can choose between a 10% chance you or one of 10 other people wins 1000$, or a 100% that everybody gets 100$. What would you choose? Most Americans would prefer the first choice because they are greedy and selfish, to their own detriment. Many Europeans will prefer the second choice because they are pragmatic, and the idea that win-win is desirable is accepted. This is the best post I think I've read on the whole internet. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 79233079 Australia 08/14/2020 08:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79233079 Sure, good example. Without all that oil money how will they be when the world goes green? Seems ironic that socialism only works when a country is blessed with natural resources and the government can exploit the resources by selling to the capitalist economies. You must have missed my previous answer where I state I happily finance my social safety with 40% income tax. Funny how you cherry pick what you answer to. Don't worry your blatant sophistry is noticed. Not at all My point is that you are using a capitalist system to generate the tax. No hypocrisy or sophistry, just basic facts that the capitalist system provides for the safety net. From the beginning I and many others claimed there's no full socialist or full capitalist countries. It's always a mix with more or less for profit, more or less taxes, more or less government interference. Only you try to reduce everything to socialism vs capitalism because your brain can't deal with nuances Not me, those claiming socialism will fix all problems. You are talking about reality of hybrid systems where there are social safety nets funded by the money from capitalist profits. (Yes it is a simplistic generalization) |

So you can't let the market decide itself what's best for people :) Not when big government is in the way. They allowed the corporations to charge us a higher price than the rest of the world. In an actual free market they would have to compete, not just pay crooked politicians to let them overcharge us. You are dumber than a sack of used condoms, son. Your university screwed you up. |
