A Siamese Fighting fish, Killifish, or Shell Dwelling Cichlids (Neolamprologus brevis) <--- awesome hardy little fish that can be kept in a small group in a 10 gallon aquarium. Also eat guppies and small goldfish when larger. Not shy about hunting/eating while you’re watching like most piranhas are. Eventually you’ll need a bigger tank. Get them all at the same time or they’ll kill newcomers. They get along fine with catfish and plecos. |

I'm probably going to get one of those fish that suck on the glass with the flat face to help keep it clean. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78903830 What are some other cool looking fish or even eels or whatever that would be good for a small tank that won't kill that fish. I don't want lame fish like guppies and stuff. It's freshwater tank. Be careful which fish you choose, they have to be compatible types with the other fish. I had one of those tiny frogs in a tank with mine. He was so funny. He'd chase the fish around when they came close. |

They were laborious to maintain and keep balanced. I had a 120 gallon tank with a clown trigger, undulate trigger and a spotted moray eel. Nothing else could be introduced as they would be either eaten or beaten up until they died. I've been thinking of doing a 60 to 80 gallon fresh water tank again with some red discus. You're almost getting the beauty of a marine tank with a lot less maintenance hassle. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] |
