Aren't there some spots where it's illegal to place signs? There's a reason hobos are hired to hold signs.. You can't plant them in the ground without a permit and I some spots you'll never be given a permit. I see homeless people all the time holding big signs for retail stores at busy intersections.

Ahh yes in the inner city I can see how that could be the case.


Luckily, as seen throughout this thread, there are other options as well that include creating car decals, stickers, business cards and more to place strategically at gas station pumps, store counters, windshield wipers in parking lots etc... so if you think it may be illegal to post a sign in your area, then you can choose from some of the other options to spread the message.


If we don't spread our message now, we may not get a chance later. Crazy People Protest and burn cities, they had their time. Now it's your turn to show how rational people protest to inspire thought, feelings and change.

Love this! I think chalk is great too- write out something short on the street or sidewalk. I'm seeing the areas in town that used to have stapled band posters are now covered with messafes in chalk, some with chalk markers. I prefer sidewalks, but I think about Emory expelling kids for messafes in chalk and wonder, will the come after people for chalk? It's a crazy world.

Political signs are free game.

Did just that, years ago.
In addition to other things like writing articles and doing other stuff. It is all 100% useless, most people here are relatively stupid and many quite evil. Nothing matters here, only money and "networking" (i.e. hanging out with egotistic idiots).

Those few opposing mainstream are real old-school racists/ extreme nationalists, not really educated and/ or do it for the money. So WHY do anything?

I live in an incredibly liberal and small neighborhood in Chicago.

Mostly professor types.

In one rampant signalling section of a block about 15 houses each have "Hate Has No Home Here" signs, like a little mini-army of lawn sign soldiers staring each other down over who can be the most virtuous.

Anyway, there's a house the next street over that put up a huge 10' long TRUMP 2020 banner draped on the front of the house. I was out walking the dog a week ago and was shocked to see it!

Anyone like to guess what's happened since then?

If you agree with this thread please bump it periodically. This is a very passive and effective way to protest and make a statement.

There is no longer a need to burn your neighborhood down or threaten people's safety.



All that people have to do in order to make their point heard is to make signs (similar to garage sale signs) that state your message and put them up in a mile or two radius around your home. Maybe 10 signs in or near busy intersections.

You don't have to be wild on social media, explain yourself, or put yourself all the way out there online at all.


When people see your sign, they will automatically interpret it as a protest of sorts. They will realize there are people out there with your point of view, and that your point of view is important enough to have a protest formed over it. People will think about your sign as they drive down the road and wonder why it was put up. That is exactly what you want. For your message to be heard,thought about, and hopefully researched by those who read your sign.






I hope this is viewed as a viable method of protest, and I really hope some of you take this idea and run with it. If you tell people of this idea and motivate them to partake, then you potentially just helped wake up dozens to hundreds of MORE people to what is going on.

Be creative with the signs. Think of sarcastic phrases that make a point, or even something simple like 'Ban Nickelodeon' that make people have to look online to understand why your sign exists.
