Listen, this needs to be taken in context. This coronavirus is not much different than other coronaviruses except for the effects it has on the body.

Otherwise, it's still a part of the coronavirus family. No coronavirus (the ones that cause a simple common cold) has long term permanent or semi-permanent immunity. They do all however get about 12-18 months of immunity.

What does this mean? You are very likely immune if you got it until about the end of 2021.

The only way to get REAL long term immunity is a vaccine that show the boyd the coronavirus in a different method than naturally happens. This way, it develops an actual sustainable memory of it. The only reason we don't have a vaccine for the other coronaviruses is because they mutate too fast, where so far this one doesn't. Because of this, the immunity methods of vaccines will almost certainly work.

Heard immunity simply CANNOT come without a vaccine, because we'll be fighting it off every 12-18 months in cycles otherwise.

No, you do maintain immunity but corona viruses do mutate but the mutation usually weakens it significantly, and even if it doesn't, it's no more lethal the the seasonal flu, same symptoms, same age group. The 1918 spanish flu targeted the younger generation because the older generation had immunity from a similar H1N1 version that struck in 1871-72. That's a more real prospective...

It's a coronaviruse, the cause of the common cold. Notice how all the experts stopped using the word novel, because it's just a cold virus. Most people's immune systems recognize the coronaviruse and have some degree of immunity to it. Kids are the ones that are always catching colds, so they already have immunity to it, hence there not having any problem dealing with Covid19.
