Poll: What excuse will Biden's handlers use to cancel the debates?

We're setting up for a new outbreak of CoVID. Colleges and K-12 returning to classes will cause a massive spread of the virus and a surge in new cases just in time to force people to accept mail in ballots, no "in-person" debates, and new lockdowns. Dems will keep hammering Trump's ineffectiveness as the reason they don't even need to debate "The failure of the President is clear and that's why he needs to be voted out."

My guess is the worst of it will be this election's October Surprise barring the 2020 effect (where whatever can go wrong in a year has gone wrong).

I imagine that come November there will be someone else on the ballot other than Joe.
Right before debates Joe will have serious health problems that will make him unable to attend or even be considered a valid person for election, then the DNC can do their bait-and-switch and air drop someone in at the last minute. Someone who appears to be reasonable and "moderate".
This gives Trump and his team very little time to react and mount an offensive against the new nominee.

Otherwise, if this doesn't happen, I would put BIG (YUGE) money on an all-out civil war in America sometime in the next 3 years.

I agree, but I think the civil war/collapse of the government starts by the end of is 2021, regardless of who wins.

But after the appearance, two Trump campaign officials would not confirm that the campaign had formally agreed to the already scheduled debates, something the Biden campaign did in June.

The thread asks will Biden's handlers try to cancel the debates. My answer was..it's doubtful - based imo on the personal gratification and confidence he likely got from last night.

Why would his 'handlers' even attempt to cancel something that Joe himself has said he looks forward to, something he's surely dreamt about?? He won't be attacked by 5 or 6 people like the Dem Primary debates. Will he do better? Will he do worse? Who knows.

They won't cancel them but they will make them internet debates and they will use the voice mimic to have someone else debate Trump while Biden moves his lips. Even then like Hillary they will have already given the debates questions out in advance to Bidens team.

The question is will they live in person debates on a stage or will the be "live" internet debates.

They will say that Trump is a bully, racist, white supremacist that cannot be reasoned with so there is no reason to have a debate with someone like that!

This is the real point here. Trump hasn’t agreed to any debates. If he doesn’t, there won’t be any debates to cancel.
