Clearly not one star or planet but a system. Quoting: The_Meridian My phone app couldn't detect it. It was in the east Sky underneath the vertical arrangement of Orion's belt by about two finger-widths and was about as wide as a quarter if you held it out at full arm's length against the sky. Not that wide all at once, but the range of it's flashing/twinkling activity. Maybe Andromeda?
