I think it's a low-grade psyop, really.

They know that a huge percentage of the masses are non-thinking followers (See: toilet paper shortage) and I think that they're figuring that if people see other people doing or disliking something, even if they like it themselves initially, they're going to be inclined to change their opinion to meld with the hivemind.

Some hivemind people tend to get upset when they find out TPTB are trying to manipulate their opinions and emotions for an agenda. It seems to me that this type of blantant shit leads to red-pilling of many people who have been part of the hive.

Just like back when Yahoo still allowed comments and on certain "key" articles, they'd release them for shill & bot commenting early so that it would skew the likes/thumbs ups. You can tell this was happening because on articles they did not do that with, the like/thumbs up would be the exact opposite....overwhelmingly so. Which is why they disabled their comments.

When ever Trump tweets ,Twitter algorithm promotes replies from left. Used to be like you would see most liked reply first in the ascending order but now they changed it
