They will go after a threat. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76376503 Those wolf spiders are bluffing just put a little pressure on them and they run off. No...oh no...jumping spiders are super predators, no doubt in my mind now. |

I have advanced one step in nature. |

Many years ago it was breaktime in my forest job and my supervisor shoed away a spider. It kept coming for him and he kept shoeing it away. Finally, it shot a web onto his hardhat and used it to lunge his face! It was one of those little spiders with the huge purple klingon-ish asses. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77744228 No, it jumped on my arm and due to my ninja jumping up effect it was caught off guard, so then I took my opportunity to eject it far off somewhere. I assume it ran off. Why would it want to mate with a metal object? Believe it me, it was pissed not confused. Predators do that. |

User ID: 76388104 United States 08/24/2020 10:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So I'm sitting on my deck taking control of my space and this jumping spider is taking up residence in a glass ashtray on my table. In the glass ashtray is a metal piece for holding a mosquito coil. So I take the metal piece and chase the spider around the ashtray and finally it jumps on the metal piece. Quoting: claircognizant_one All this while I have two people watching what I am doing. Witnesses. Anyway, I manage to get the spider on the deck railing and I am pushing it over the side with the metal piece - then it disappears. OK, my fear of spiders in my space is appeased. Suddenly, it crawls back up the flat deck railing part and makes it's way over to me, agitated. This is happening within less than a minute, mind you and everyone is still watching and in tune. Of course, I am vocializing that the 'jumping' spider won't leave and it's coming closer to me. Anyway, I say out loud 'it's pissed at me' and then it jumps on my arm and trys to hurt me. So, I jump up and do the icky spider dance and who knows where it landed. Just saying, don't piss off jumping spiders. A little spider was trying to hurt you? You poor baby! lol Just to let you know...it's bad luck to harm/kill spiders. An old Ukrainian folk tale told to me by my mom. I follow it! Not taking any chances!
