Ohio's conservative lawmakers want to impeach Gov. Mike DeWine over how he's handled the novel coronavirus.

Becker alleges DeWine violated the state and U.S. Constitution by meddling in the presidential primary election, arbitrarily closing certain businesses and instituting a statewide mask mandate. Particularly offensive, according to a news release, was requiring those in church to wear masks (officiants are not required to do so.)

"Many Ohioans find the mask mandate offensive, degrading, humiliating, and insulting," Becker said in a news release.

Last week, the Clermont County Republican Party passed a resolution calling on DeWine to stop orders and other restrictions on Ohioans' lives. Clermont County is currently listed as "red" on DeWine's county-by-county map, indicating "very high exposure and spread."
