Observations: Woman about 70 years old put her hand up to stop me from walking past her in an aisle in Lowe's yesterday. Observations: Quoting: Butch DeFeo I had my mask up on my forehead, like I always do after walking into a store. When walking down one aisle there was an old woman standing to the side of the aisle. I was gonna walk past her, on the other side of the aisle. (about 6 feet away from her throughout the whole deal). She raises here hand up to me, and said "don't come towards me". I just lowered my mask and walked past her. She said, "thank you". I gave her silence, I didn't want to complement her. 1. If she is THAT fearful of the whole fake pandemic, she should stay the hell HOME. She had no need to be in Lowes. 2. Theses masks are NOT gonna keep her from catching a virus, at some point down the road. 3. She was big time brainwashed. She was ready with her hand signal to "stop" a person and everything. Just dumb. Looks like we will have to wear masks in public for YEARS and YEARS to come. What you gonna do? All the same, it’s a gentleman that is respectful of the elderly. Regardless of your feelings on a subject. You did well. Making sammiches great again! |

Maybe she should stay home but she probably reasoned that people would be following the rules and had expectations of what to expect. |

Observations: We had a similar thing at Big Lots in May. We were just getting to the checkout, were going to put our things on the counter & this old white lib woman with a mask on that did not fit right at all, puts a hand up & says something. Keep your distance, or 6 feet or whatever. I was tempted to start scolding her but I didn;t. The cashier looked at us & rolled her eye lol & then appologized after the woman left. |

Observations: Anyone over the age of 65 has already lived most of their lives without the internet and cellphones. They had decades only getting the news from mainstream TV/radio and most of that was on just a handful of channels and the daily newspaper. So the majority still watch the 6 o'clock news and read a newspaper in the morning. They are now fully armed with the daily news, the crossword completed and all the "facts" of the day have well soaked in so nothing else will change their view. Factor older people can die of covid and now you have a person that is scared shitless and probably spent months hiding at home so they feel personally threatened by rule breakers. Now I'm not saying 65'70 is particular old and most can use a PC to do banking and order online groceries but they are very much set in their way and won't be swayed by "conspiracy theories". |
