Prayer Thread Part 3.

Prayers said for all. I was pondering my father last night, for no particular reason. Perhaps it was because I obviously went on a Spiritual quest that he fully backed. He did find my neo-Paganism a bit hard to swallow but did sign a consent form for me to attend ceremony at the Wiccan Church of Canada and gave me train money to go monthly to Toronto to do so. Anyhow...it looks like Sept. 9th this year is my 30th anniversary of being in BC and my mother is quite content that I eventually found the Orthodoxy, in my own way of course. I guess at my age, thinking back on my own timeline is a normal thing to do around a birthday (no not quite yet). So my prayers today are focused on my family. Those who 'made Aliyah', those still here and in the US, and those long since past.

Lance, some of us take seemingly circuitous routes. I did. Spent six months trying to be an atheist, but every blade of grass coming up through the sidewalk jacked that up. It takes too much faith and no intellectual honesty to be an atheist.

I have about forty seconds of memory of my father who died in 1965.

He worked hard to support his family too.

LOl...I recall growing up under the bleachers collecting beer cans. [link to www.brantfordareasportshall.ca (secure)] And my father was the announcer for the years preceding and following his ownership. Perhaps it is looking at my son at 20 and wondering what memories I gave him? He recalls a lot and after his almost 3 weeks here we are friends. WHich is a good thing to be in our ages.
How does this tie into the prayer thread? Family. Family has, from my perspective on others lives, become thinned. My ex and son looked after 2 elderly during their transition to final hospice care. Not family. Friends. I see people here writing about their 'loved ones' in Nursing/Long Term Care Homes. Really? How does one feed their loved ones to the system to be sheared and ripped of any remaining vestige of humanity in those homes? If my family looked after 2 others without, at home, what is going on with those who could be there but decide a monthly cheque is easier then looking after their parents?
The whole facade at 'culture' at present is falling apart. The elders/elderly don't raise the young. The elders/elderly get put into homes where they are milked for all they are worth. The entire edifice of Western Culture is being torn apart by LAW. And no one pays attention? Sure GLP does but what are we? .0005% of the population? If that? We are in a sad predicament. The generation prior to me, is aging and being attacked. The generation I fall under is confused, the younger ones are getting indoctrinated en masse to believe their Elders are racist/misogynists etc.
In total, we are quickly reaching an impasse that, aside from a very small percentage of the population, most people are blind to. This impasse is 'It'. As much as I love quantum computing which can be summed up as 'on-unknown-off' in all reality...the duality is showing itself and not leaving that middle state. Chose a side. Being on the fence is of no merit. In fact none of the 3 sides has merit and we are being cattle chuted into a modernity not desired by most (if they knew), not held back by those who know and feel powerless, and then the 'unknown' faction is being fed Soma.

I guess 'Hold Fast' is what matters now.

Father God, today I set my heart and mind on pleasing You. Help me to break away from the snare of people pleasing. Help me to stand strong against criticism and learn to walk in love always. Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to You always in Jesus’ name. Amen. Hebrews 9:27

This helped me alot. My parents and grandparents have been on my heart lately...coming to me in dreams.

One of the things that's hard for me is the fact the doctors can decide that you can't bring your loved one home--it happened with my mother and my stepfather, even though the resources were there; same for my mom and no matter what I did, I couldn't bring my mom back home in 2005--they took all her SS, etc. to pay for it, but it tore me up because I wanted her home with us...and made my life harder to have to go and visit her to bring her clean clothes, coffee, other things, where if she had been in the home I could have just taken care of her.

I am praying the prayer you posted...thank you for that it brings some peace to my troubled heart tonight. I posted a long post in one of the covid news threads and basically I appreciate any prayers as I am grieving the loss of that mom friend I knew...

Praying for all here...it is amazing to me how God uses this forum to bring believers together...

Louis, I pray for you it is hard to grow up without a dad--especially a boy--my father lost his father when he was 6 years old...

Of course. Yes, it is very hard to recover from gaslighting, been there. Prayers for you to stand fast and hold firm, and finding the wit (it is a strength) and wisdom to be comforted by your own strength and knowledge. God let you prevail in this most complicated of matters and, if possible, bring your son back to you. Mighty prayers to your 18 month old daughter that she may find joy, and skirt around the poignance, of this world.

Oh wow. As a mom and grandmother myself, I can only imagine the horror you are going through. I pray that God will give you the strength to deal with this and of course I am praying for your son and his daughter.

Things are still beyond tense.

Asking the Lord Jesus Christ for mercy for your son. Lord, I pray this man be healed of the emotional and physical wounds and be moved to a safe place to heal. I lift up miz.fizzy for peace of mind as she is suffering because her son is suffering. Lord, please help this family in accordance with Thy Will.

And Lord, we lift up everyone here in need of Your Intervention, that they may experience peace and healing; again in accordance with Thy Will.

Thank You, Lord for all You do for us, so much of it we are unaware of; help us to be aware and thankful for all good things in our lives.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.
