Re: Prayer Thread Part 3.
Well, the past few days have been a bit testy for me. Thursday someone sideswiped my car when it was parked in front of my house, and I got minor damage on the drivers side. It's below the deductible, so there is not much I can do.

Yesterday morning, I was on my way to a thrift shop to find a chair that would closely match the other ones on my front porch. The place I was going to, has chairs from $3-$8 each, real cheap !

I am stopped at a red light at a major intersection, and all of a sudden, BAMM !!! I got rear ended. An older minivan with no plates and a younger woman driving it, plowed right into me. I dialed 911 immediately, and put on my flashers. I was not hurt, but stayed in my car for safety sake, as that intersection is dangerous. The driver of the car that rear ended me, took off, hit and run.No plates, not even a paper temporary plate, and I figure she probably had no insurance, and probably not a license either.I don't know if the cops ever caught up with her.

When the cops came, I got out of the car. I was at the point of tears, afraid to look at the back of my car to see how bad the damage was, as she hit me pretty hard.Surprisingly, I had minor damage, scratches and a few nicks. God is Good!

FYI, I drive a 1995 Lincoln Town Car, a very big and heavy old tank with real steel bumpers.I am sure the other driver has damage to the front of her minivan, as steel doesn't yield easily.

The way I got this car over 2 years ago, was quite extraordinary. My Chevy S10 was kaput, so I had my youngest drive me around looking for a cheap used vehicle.I am a GM person. I don't like foreign cars, and I don't like Fords. I had a Ford once before, many years ago, and it was not a good car. I also don't like red cars.

We are going from place to place, looking for a vehicle for me.Everything I found was too high priced, or had way too many miles on it.We stopped at one place, and the vehicle was nice, but the mileage was high on it too.

All of a sudden, near the back of the lot, a bright red vehicle was just glowing in the sunlight.I quickly walked over to take a look. It was the Lincoln ! My jaw just dropped, as this car was in perfect condition.Turns out they had just got it in. A family had dropped it off, as their elderly relative was not able to drive anymore. It was a 1 owner car, and had been garage kept and meticulously maintained all these years. Low mileage too ! The price was very cheap, and I bought it on the spot.

Not only does God provide, but He has a good sense of humor. I had prayed to God to send me a car, and left it all up to Him. He knew what kind of vehicle I liked, but He knew exactly what I needed.

Prayers given for all; I realize this morning how much time I spend praying daily.

It's not time wasted.

Tiger, your post made me almost cry - and with happiness at the end.

There are terrible weather storms around the world and I feel that we humans are having them too.
I am going through a very big storm at the moment, so the picture post ending "your enemies cannot swim" mostly raises my spirits, but this issue is making me physically ill at the moment. Tummy exploding etc. I have found my shoulders are in my ear hole and my jaw clamped tight. Even my toes were all curled. A quick message to anyone else - put the tip of your tongue out so your jaw relaxes and that reminds you to bring down your shoulders and destress anywhere else that you are aware of. I have other friends also going through bad storms. Mope MisFizy calms down too as she sounds to be out of it with worry about her cat.

One point - when you are in a bad situation I think your sympathies then go to others.

AS such, my prayers for all of you reading this.
What choice do I have but to be myself? Everyone else was already taken.

When I found that car, I thought I could hear God laughing.I don't like Fords or red cars, but that is exactly what He gave me !
FYI, my late husband Roy had a 1992 Lincoln Town Car, emerald green, the Jack Nicholas Edition. I didn't like that car at all, and Roy absolutely loved it ! I refused to drive it, as it scared me for some reason. It later became my youngest daughter's first car when she learned how to drive.

I say a special prayer of thanksgiving every time I drive my old Lincoln.I tell God I am thankful for the car, as it is a good running car and is so pretty. I also thank God for giving me the opportunity to drive such a nice car, and that even if something would happen to it tomorrow, that I have been so Blessed to have had it, and it has been such a pleasure to drive.

I have been up basically all night because of the storms. We are fine here, just a quick burst of strong wind and then some rain. My weather alarms went off at 1am, 2:15am, and at 3:30am, followed by the tornado sirens.

Other areas, in Illinois and Wisconsin, got hit pretty good. Prayers said for those affected by these storms.

Re: Prayer Thread Part 3.
Grateful to be able to give you all a good update on my son.

My oldest son came in from out of state, consulted with the sheriffs still gathered in front of the house.. my son and pastor did what the sheriffs either did not want to or were scared to do..

he and the pastor said a prayer, then just walked in the back door as usual.. the pastor stood himself between the woman (who did have a gun, pastor just took the gun from her.) and my oldest son.. who went to where his brother was curled up in the corner of the bedroom.. picked him up, and carried him out to the ambulance, got in with him and they went to hospital.

pastor took the woman's elbow firmly and escorted her out front to the waiting sheriffs, and handed her gun to them. they arrested her for a bunch of charges, as you can imagine.

she is now in jail for attempted murder plus all the rest, no bond, my son is in hospital in intensive care, and my oldest son is on his way back home.

thank you all for your prayers!!! it definitely was the working of God thru all your prayers, and the belief in God, bravery and courage of the pastor and my oldest son who stepped up and past the scared sheriffs who perhaps needed to see how God can and does work in our lives today.

I lost another coworker this week.

I'll ask someone I trust tomorrow if they know what he died from. He was younger than me though and I'm certain got the 'vax'.
