Prayer Thread Part 3.

It began a few weeks ago and I did see my doc last Friday. He had blood drawn and ordered tests and has since emailed me the lab results. Almost every measurement is correct, even my A1C is 5.9 which while slightly elevated, is so close to normal that my diabetes will be not medically detectable if I can maintain it properly for the next few months, though this illness is making that rather difficult.

Kidney function is correct as is liver function and cardiac performance. I am convinced that whatever I have contracted, which may prove to be COVID, is the sole cause of my swelling, brain fogginess, and continued extreme pain.

His nurse had three COVID tests before hers finally came back as positive and missed two months of work behind it. She is in her forties; I am in my sixties and have no desire to ever be hospitalized again especially now, having been too many times previously in my life.

He prescribed a diuretic called Torsemide when I was at his office last week. It had done nothing by Tuesday so I emailed him of that and his reply was that it may not have been at a sufficient level to work so he had me double the dosage.

I have always been difficult to prescribe any medication for as they most often do not have the expected results, i.e. a surgical sedative will raise me to hyperactive levels of activity and consciousness. A diabetic pill intended to lower blood glucose will raise it to triple the level it was at without that medication. Every medication I take needs carefully vetted for how it will affect me as most seem to have opposite their intended therapeutic effect and it has been that way with most prescriptions my entire life.

I can't complain, having lived as long as I have; all male members of my family have died of cardiopulmonary complications and illnesses at age forty and I have subsisted over two decades beyond that so far. Life artificially sustained by medication and chemistry.

My greatest concern is for my job and ability to provide for my wife regardless of how we get along; that is a responsibility I cannot shirk.

My emotions are at a level above what I am accustomed to, watching the devastation unfold in the Canary Islands leaves me in tears and even my eyelids are ragged, sore, and irritated lately. Even after two showers my skin crawls and feels as if there are a thousand insects attacking it; I'm scraping myself raw with a back scratcher from head to toe and do not find relief.

I pray I may outlive whatever is attacking me and find some semblance of return to normalcy.

Most days going online is a challenge, which makes my work difficult; I just went close to two weeks without even watching or reading any news. The world has become corrupt and begs the Lord to wipe it free of us so it may heal so humanity may return at some future date.

Louis we were sick for almost 3 weeks, seems day 7 to 10 was the worst for us. After day 10 stated getting better. Day 8 was the day my wife started to say her lower back hurt, that's when she got the pneumonia. My feet swelled up also, not too bad though.

I will be working on oil in the next 2 weeks, your first on the list, wont help with the bug, but will help the pain.

I am further ill today and have not yet gone to have the PCR test my doc says I need to have performed. I haven't been safe to drive since Monday behind muscle cramps and leg spasms which would cause a crash.

I had to take off work at 9:00 AM today behind 'brain fog' and dizziness to the extent I would do damage in my engineering / network administration job which I do by laptop from home and have since February 2020.

Whatever this is, I have never been so ill or so affected by any illness in my sixty plus years. It is even difficult to manage my blood glucose: I can eat two full sleeves [about sixty] of saltine crackers and require no insulin one day, or can eat two crackers the next and have it rocket from a normal of 90 mg/dL to close to 300 mg/dL which makes managing it all but impossible.

Mrs. is also become ill so she cannot drive either of us for testing or treatment.

BBQ Boy, if you can and do not mind sharing, would you please PM me with how long it took for you to recover from COVID?

I'm trying to take this one day at a time and find I can require twenty hours of sleep one day and / or can go two days without sleep.

It seems nothing of me is normal or as expected, one day foods do not taste right so I do not eat, another day they are fine and I can't eat enough. Most unusual is the taste of metal, specifically zinc in my mouth most of the time which is rather off-putting of my appetite for anything. My feet and ankles have swollen to twice their normal size and from my knees down appear to have put on about thirty pounds of weight entirely from what seems to be water retention in them.

I've never been frightened of being ill before. I am now.

Louis, you can request a mouth swab Covid test.

You need medical help. But still praying for you!!!

Eta:A friend has a 12 year old little brother who is apparently having a heart attack. Just got a text about it. Friend's name is Josh, but don't know the little brothers name. Please pray for him. I don't know if he was vaxxed or not. Not the time to ask though.

I will be taking off work tomorrow, seeing the other doc or NPA at my doctor's practice for a medical note for work, and have called a location fiver miles from me where I may have a COVID PCR test performed.

I self-administered a nasal swab two days ago for the COVID antigen test. I'll plan on self-administering the nasal swab for a PCR test as my first NDE was at age four when an artery at the base of my brain ruptured and needed cauterized via my sinus cavity after losing the larger portion of my blood. I do not wish some imbecile with a swab or device to rupture another one.

As for a doctors' note, they can fax it to my office where I can email it as a PDF to my group's manager. I have my agency's copiers configured as Fax machines which write the inbound Faxes to network folders where we can retrieve them as needed.

I appear to be the only user of the copier near my vacant since February 2020 office, as I have that copier configured to email me when it receives a Fax and I have been emailed twice in two years and both Faxes were for me.

I apologize for my verbal assault on the prayer thread today. I have been over-enthusiastic since returning to GLP and my two favorite threads: prayer warriors and foodies!

I'm just catching up to your "deal," Louis...I will read more...but wanted to just
throw you a "cyber HUG" and let you know I'm keeping you in my prayers.
I'll say a rosary for you tonight (sorry if this offends anyone...something my
childhood nanny taught me and it seems to help.)

No offense taken; we are all God's children here.

I've read your posts with Tiger and I was wondering if
you think this current swelling/water retention is from
an earlier exposure to COVID-19? I know that some people
do NOT even think there WAS a virus--but I'm here to say
that it IS real and that it's a nasty bioweapon one should
not discount. My spouse and I had what I believe was a
"test" of SARS/COV2 released in the Seattle airport around
2012. I'm serious! We caught it on a trip for a family
reunion. By the time we got back to MT we were both so
sick we almost both passed. It hit me at the same time as
a shingles outbreak on one arm and neck...probably because
it totally destroyed my immune system.

Neither one of us have been the same since and I'm fairly
sure we are among those called "Covid-19 Long-haulers."
Strange symptoms that seem to morph into other wierd symptoms
where you never know what's coming at ya. Right now we are
both extremely dizzy and having fatigue where we can barely
do our household chores (thank God we are retired...I can
not even IMAGINE having to try to work with this...*(Ugh!)

Anyways...if you are having Covid-19 Long-hauler Syndrome
there are currently doctors who are treating for it. We
are just staying away from doctors--we are just so horribly
disenchanted with the medical system now. It's like they
have all sold out or GONE ABSOLUTELY MAD. We'll take our
chances just trying to do homeopathic treatment.

While it sounds really bad...at least we have survived this
and have the hope of full recovery one day when they figure
this all out. Maybe we could ask for prayer too? Hubby
can barely move some days as his muscles are so sore. He's
using Kratom tea for pain.
