The time has come to walk away from my house. I was going to try to tough it out one more year, but my insurance company entered into receivership. Getting another company to insure me would require an inspection. My roof alone will fail me. I just needed to tell someone. I'm to embarrassed and ashamed to tell the few friends I have.

I know there are places buying homes for cash without having to do repairs. Maybe that would work. I'll have to look into it more.

Anyway, just asking for prayers. I'll probably leave Florida. I have a friend in Texas who needs out of her living situation. It's not an emergency so maybe we can figure something out. I haven't even told her yet.

Thanks for lending an ear, and any prayers.

I have not been on for many days but as a group you always come into my morning thoughts.

I don't like asking for prayers for myself, but need some right now.

I have been going through some issues, trying to sell my house and buy another one, and in the middle of it all a broken arm. Then find out the house I was buying did not have the correct title deeds, so I backed out.

I am now need to get out of my house and need your prayers and good thoughts for me to find somewhere to go, even temporary.

I am in a panic.

My car goes into the shop today. It needs brakes, and the climate control went out a few weeks ago, no air conditioning, no heat. Mary's car was down for a few weeks, but is up and running but still needs some more repairs. Hopefully, my car gets fixed, and then hers goes back to the shop to get the wiring issue fixed and get the recall for the ignition done.
Jewel had to go to the Vet last week. Kidney issues again. I had to put her back on the kidney diet. She is doing fairly well, but I know it is just a matter of time before I lose her.

Thank you red_heart

I took a look at some reviews when you first mentioned that company. It seems they still require repairs before they'll insure. I'll have to investigate further, and of course get in touch with them.

I just found out today I'm losing my insurance. I'm currently in freeze mode, just sort of letting things sink in. I'm off tomorrow and Saturday, so I'll contact them then.

I feel for you ! My old house needed so much repairs, I had to sell it for less than half of what I had into it, and less than what we paid for it 22 years ago. I got $50,000 for it from a neighbor across the street, who wanted to buy it for his son, and also was a handyman. The cash for houses people only wanted to give me $20,000. If I wanted to stay, to make the house up to code and truly decent, would have cost me close to $200,000. 32 out of 34 windows had to be replaced, new wiring, foundation work, ceilings, walls, the kitchen needed to be gutted and totally redone, etc. The windows alone were going to cost me $85,000.There was no way I could do it. FTR, it was a 10 room mini-mansion with a 1/4 acre lot and a small pond. One person can't upkeep that large of a property or home. I had to say goodbye to it.
OTOH, since they could do some of the work themselves, it would only cost them for materials, where I would have to get contractors to do all the work.It was feasible for the people who bought it, but not for me.

You are better off selling it as is, and list it with a realtor. You will get more money that way, even though the realtors fees will take a bit of it.

It doesn't hurt to call a realtor. The cash for houses people don't pay hardly anything.
It was very hard to leave, but I had no choice. If my kids were still at home, I would have stayed and at least got the foundation and electric done to make the house safe.

Re: Prayer Thread Part 3.

My friend Jessica needs prayers and/or positive vibes big time.

One of her almost 3 year old twins managed to sneak out of the back door yesterday while she was napping with the other twin. The police brought that twin home and now DCF is involved.

Jess is on the edge of sanity and bad decisions right now. She needs strength and love so badly right now. She just came by and I gave her the biggest hug I could possibly give.

She's losing strength and hope really quickly. I need her to stay strong for her kiddos. For herslf.

I'm afraid for her right now. Please my friends, send anything you have, spiritually, religiously, anything. She needs it right now.

:(

I don't know how much strength she has left.
