Just got off the phone with the Vet. Jewel is eating, and her bowels seem to be OK for now. She is still lethargic. They will do a re-check of her kidney function late this afternoon. He suggested the big animal hospital in Lafayette or the one in Chicago. Neither of these are an option for me, as the cost is way out of reach, and seeing what all is going on with Jewel, I feel she doesn't need to be put through all that. I told the Vet, unless there is a change for the better, that I will bring Jewel home this evening, and take care of her until she passes away.He totally agrees with me on that, as the best option at this point.
Poor Princess is so depressed.I have tried talking to her. She knows Jewel was very sick when we took her to the emergency Vet. At least, if I bring Jewel home, even though her time is limited, that might help Princess understand better.
