I got my permanent crown today. It's my birthday too, so I guess I did something nice for myself for my birthday. That abscess was no joke!

Reading back, and prayers for all.

Please keep my daughter Mary K in your prayers, my Friends ! She still isn't right. She is having problems with speech and cognitive function, and can't drive, either. I catch her staring into space frequently. IMO, the UTI wasn't the cause of this, I think she might have had a stroke in the bathroom. She told me there was no warning at all when she lost consciousness, it was just an immediate thing like someone flipped a switch. She sees her GP monday morning.

My grandson Kacee is starting to feel better. My other grandson, Robbie the stinker, was expelled from school because he wouldn't go most of the time. He did get a job, but he needs his education too.

Hi all... hope every one is well...

Tiger, Check this site and see if you can relate to these symptoms, There is a strong possibility it may be a TIA (Transient ischaemic attack. But of course your practitioner will diagnose Monday.

I would suggest you use an `oximeter` and take various readings I would advise to take regular readings particularly the oxy levels and present this on monday also.
I dont want to go into things here but if you feel the link provided gives sufficient evidence of a TIA then drop me a PM.

IF YOU HAVE A FEVER DO NOT LOWER IT WITH MEDS.... A FEVER IS AN IMMUNE SYSTEM RESPONSE TO A PATHOGEN (VIRUS, BACTERIA ETC..) IT MEANS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY....DONT USE DRUGS TO LOWER YOUR TEMP.

It sure sounds like she may have had a stroke to me too. I would tell the GP what you think and have him investigate further.
My mom had stage 4 cancer and her GP told me it was constipation causing her problems. I told him no, this is cancer and he would not listen. So, I brought her to a specialist and sure enough it was cancer. Point is you have to be persistent.

Prayers for Mary K and your grandsons as well. hugs

She still has dizziness, cognitive loss, and some trouble with speech. She will not drive, as she knows she isn't capable of doing so. When she was at the hospital, the doctor suggested she get an MRI of her head to see if it was a TIA. All they did was do a cat scan, which showed nothing. Her printout from the hospital did show a TIA was suspected, and even had it on her papers that she could have had diminished blood flow to the brain.I don't know if her insurance would not pay for the MRI, but when we go to the GP on monday, I am going to insist on it, even if I have to pay for it out of pocket, like I did with one of her heart tests that the insurance would not pay for.

Please keep her in your prayers !

Adding to CR's post:
If it was a mild stroke and they have not addressed the problem, she could very well continue to have TIA's. Many times people with TIA's will have periods of confusion and may explain her staring into space. Besides monitoring her oxygen levels with the pulse ox, you can check her blood pressure in both arms. Many people with TIA's will have a normal B/P in one arm and in the other arm it will be elevated.
