I texted with him quite a bit on Christmas Eve & Day. I think he was feeling lonely and reached out. He said he could feel that I was thinking about him & I was!

He was safely & peacefully spending time in a room by himself cuddled up with a blanket & kitties staying warm.

He says he is coming back to GLP after the first of the year. I think he feel like he has nothing good to say anymore. That is not true! We talked about the sci-fi shows we both like and music, etc. He is much more than his wife/home issues!

Ok, asking for prayers. Apparently when I fell back in August and smashed my head through the toilet tank (not the bowl) I had started a chain of events with my eyes. Tomorrow morning at 6am I am going in to have retina reattachment in my left eye and stopping the start of the detachment in my right eye. I woke up this morning with blurred vision. Thinking it was all part of my Spinal cyst. It had happened a few times in the past, but only lasted for about 20minutes at a time. Well, while I was doing my morning routine, the blurriness cleared up some. SO I sat down to get ready for trading. This is when the dark spot came into my field of vision. I traded for about an hour....thinking again...it is just part of the Cyst issues.

Well. Left eye is about 50% dark on the left side of the eye with tons of bright star burst all over. I called my optometrist and he got me in. Ran a few tests and scans. The retina is 45% detached in the left eye. Looked at my R eye and it is starting to tear. Only 5% tear as of test at 2pm local. We called insurance, called ophthalmologist and booked the first appt we could get.

Talking to the Dr he asked if I had hit my head. I said yes. I fell headlong into the toilet tank. I got stitches from it. He asked which side. Left side. He said that was most likely the start of this issue. I never in my mind thought that I would have detached my retina like that.

Anyhow guys, sorry this is long. I wanted to update you all in one swoop, instead of DMs. I do not know when I will be back on, but just asking for some prayers.

I have mentioned before, that my little Fox Terrier Jewel, was diagnosed with kidney failure in November 2021. She is still hanging in there, but lately has been getting me up very early, like 3am. I hear her pacing through the house, and it wakes me up. She has been getting herself stuck in corners too, and twice now has got herself stuck between my bathtub and the toilet. I know her vision isn't good, and she is old.

I woke up at 2am this morning, to her pacing. I tried to ignore her, but couldn't go back to sleep. Princess went on alert, and I soon found out why. Jewel quit pacing, and was making weird little noises, like she was stuck again, but I also smelled electrical. She had squeezed herself into the space between my desk and my file cabinet. On the floor between the 2, was my super breaker electric power strip, where I had the computer, the WiFi,and a lamp plugged in. This is the best power strip I have ever had, and had used it at the old house too. It had plug ins for cable internet too, so it covered everything, literally.

Bottom line, God was watching over us. Jewel had got herself stuck, peed all over the power strip, shorted it out, and it was hot. It was making a low hum noise too until I unplugged it. I pulled her away, and individually unplugged everything that was on the strip, and cleaned up the mess. I threw the fried power strip out the back door, and it landed next to the garbage can.

Jewel could have been electrocuted, and my house could have burned, with us in it. I have to go through the house today, and block every nook and cranny Jewel can get herself into. I replaced my super power strip with a regular power strip I had, so I could hook everything back up. I am just beside myself right now, as I know how bad this could have been.

Prayers for LLC that today's operation goes smoothly with fast healing and that Jewel gets better. Prayers of gratitude that the Lord prevented these situations from getting worse.

Prayers for hubs as he needs another round of antibiotics and I'm going to get them later this morning...

Ya that was a close call. Can you put her in the bathroom and shut the door at night? Might stop something bad from happening.

Agree with DMJ. You should probably confine her to a safe space somewhere that you can still hear her. I know it is heartbreaking watching your fur baby go through this. Praying for Sweet Jewel, praying for you and thanking God that nothing bad came of this and He protected you.

My daughter suggested that, but I am afraid it would cause Jewel a lot of stress.
It was a very close call. Princess went on alert, and wouldn't let me go back to sleep. She kept on nudging and licking me. Yeah, that bed hog sleeps right next to me on the bed at night. Jewel sleeps on the rug right next to my bed.
Jewel gets stuck in the bathroom too, between the toilet and the tub. I am going to block every nook and cranny in the house today.I blocked the access to the new power strip in my office with the garbage can.I got to block the access between my file cabinet and the wall, too. I am going to find something to block the space between the toilet and the tub, and a small spot between my stove and cabinet in the kitchen, too. Those are the spots where Jewel gets herself in, and can't get out.
My daughter says that one of those circle playpen type setups for toddlers might work. It would give her room to walk a bit, and her bed could be in there, but she would be more confined. I have space in my office for this.
I definitely got to do something quickly. I don't want to put Jewel down. She is still eating good, going to the bathroom outside, except for a few accidents, and giving slobbery love to everyone.

Tiger, maybe crating Jewel at night would help?

We have a Chihuahua and a little dachshund Cairn terrier mix that sleep in the dog cabin I built. They're quite happy in there. No messes or mischief at night either.
